Really good nylon at this price point! Sounds good with or without amp; good neck action; comfortable nut width. Highly recommend, especially as a traveling guitar. Great responsiveness and follow up from Nick at Sweetwater, too.

Setup sucks

I like this guitar, but out of the box i should have sent it back. The action was 1/4 of an inch at the 12th fret to high for a classic player. the action at the nut was the same. very poor. after getting the playability were i wanted it, it now play s well, the tone is very good electric or acoustic, very good tuners nice neck, the pre amp is also very good. i have light gauge read more daddario classic strings and they feel good and sound better than the mediums that came with it. These companies need to do a better job on the setups, not everyone is a guitar tech like myself. when i spend this amount of money it should play.if this guitar went though sweetwaters hands shame on them for shipping me a second rate instrument.

The Yamaha NTX 1 Nylon Guitar looks, sounds, and feels great! It's light as a feather and easy to play! The tone is uniquely awesome played with or without my amp (Vox VX 50) and the Nux Wireless Guitar system. The craftsmanship is of high quality and the ornamentation is brilliantly attractive. I'm very satisfied!

First time ordering a guitar online so I was a little sceptical. To my surprise it was better than I expected. I tried several guitars on different stores before ordering this one to be sure that I was getting what I was looking for. I own a classic acoustic guitar and an acoustic-electric and was looking for a hybrid type so I could have the possibilities of mixing these 2 sounds read more and feels. This is it! The advantage of having the sound and feel of the classical nylon guitar for finger picking songs with the warmth typical of the nylon strings and the ability of a bright strumming were you can EQ it right there on the fly from one song to the next, in advantageously incredible. The neck profile is perfect for someone like me who played on a classical (2") for many yrs and always felt the acoustic-electric neck too small. This one is about 1 7/8" so very comfortable for nylon strings still. I am extremely satisfied and impressed with the looks, the quality and the sound of this guitar. On top of this, the constant support you get from Sweetwater is unbelievable. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking about buying or even searching for an instrument.

The first purchase of a guitar online for me- everything went well. Instrument was very well packed, and arrived quickly. Workmanship and finish on the guitar are exceptional, especially considering that this is priced in the lower end of the model line. Purchased for recording direct to DAW, sounds good with onboard pickup, and the built-in tuner is a usable feature. I don't use read more the on-board EQ for recording, but a nice feature if you play live. Very pleased with the quality and sound, and would recommend to anyone wanting a quality nylon acoustic instrument that can compete with models that cost substantially more.

This guitar is just an incredible instrument for the price. I've been looking for a nylon guitar complement my other guitars. Playing for over 50 years, I just wanted nylon sound for a little change and my on person time. The NTX1 has a great sound, fit and finish. I found the end of frets just a little sharp which was easily corrected with a little redressing. If your looking for read more a fun venture into nylon string without big cost this little beauty is it. As always the folks at Sweetwater are the best and the candy is just a nice bonus touch. Highly recommended for the fun alone, it smile very time I pick up.

I have only played steel string guitars and my experience even at that is minimal. Have had this Yamaha for a couple of weeks and it's growing on me. It's easier to get use to the increased spacing but my 12 string has a similar wide neck. All said it's staying for some time and the tone is pretty good and is better when plugged in.
