Go with Fender

I have and American Special Stratocaster Sunburst that had a white pickguard. It's a classic look and I loved the finish on my guitar, I just found the pickguard kind of sterile. This was the perfect answer. I thought about buying a cheaper off brand scratchplate, but with an American, even an entry level American, I wanted to keep it pure Fender. Besides, a lot of cheaper options read more aren't the sturdy, good looking 3 ply like this is, or often not shielded. My advice? Keep it Fender. It's pricier, but it's quality.

I have a 2006 American Strat, which I wanted to upgrade the look on to make a bit more distinct. The tortoiseshell pickguard really looks great, was a perfect fit.

I realized all the guitars I own have white pickguards and decided to change it up with a tortoise shell pickguard for my 2012 American Strat. I've always been a fan of the tortoise and figured it would look great on blue (before and after pic attached). All the holes lined up and it took probably 20 minutes total using only a philips screwdriver. It was perhaps a little more read more expensive than I'd like, but it is a genuine Fender part and seemed well shielded.

Looks great!
