Excellent Tuners; Bad Screws
These Grover machine heads are outstanding. Fit & finish are wonderful, and tuning with them is extremely smooth and precise. It takes very little movement to change pitch. They're almost effortless to turn, and they hold tuning perfectly. These tuners work exactly as Grovers should. The screws included to mount them, however, are garbage. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems… read more like most hardware included with parts for any purpose, musical or otherwise, are pure junk lately. In this case, it didn't take much effort to strip a couple of the screw heads. Worst of all, two of the screws broke in half when I tried to remove them to replace them with other screws, leaving half of the screws buried in the bass headstock. I won't even go into detail on how I eventually removed them or what impact that had on the bass. I finally tossed the remainder of the screws and simply reused the screws from the original tuners, which had been on the bass for 37 years. If Grover would include some quality screws with the tuners, I'd definitely give a 5-star rating.
Perfect
These tuners are absolutely wonderful and hold tune great! Sweetwater makes all your purchases easy and fast and even there demo model's of gear are in better shape then most places sell as brand new,so hat's off to sweetwater once again.
New Grover Tuning Pegs
My new Grover tuning pegs are working out fine, except that I had to install them upside down on my '72 EB-0 bass. The previous tuners had small holes where two little pegs went to hold the tuner stablet works fine, but the bass is actually a right-handed model (I don't believe Gibson ever made a left-handed one) that I flipped over to play left-handed. Still have a little trouble… read more keeping the low E string in tune, but other wise, they have been great!
Awesome
The Grover bass tuners I puchased were everything I expected from the most trusted name in tuners. Can't miss with Grover...
Great Tuners
I replaced my Epi bass tuners with these. It was a great improvement in tighter tuning and stabilized tuning. I find I'm tuning less and playing more. The chrome was great with no defects and looks amazing. This was a good upgrade for my Bass.
