Solid tuners
These were purchased to replace the tuners on a really old S-310 (Epiphone strat copy from the late 80s). They were a near-drop-in replacement for the originals, but did need the old screw holes filled in and relocated (common issue on old instruments that are out of production). There is no backlash and the guitar stays in tune. I do wish they had a higher gear ratio.
Cant stand them
I don't like these at all. 14:1 is barely enough 'resolution' to tune properly. Be prepared to make a lot of adjustments where you have to barely turn the key over and over. I've also been hard pressed to find a drop in replacement of any kind whatsoever. These came on my 2017 Studio T Firebird and I really hope to find something else soon, a total pain to use.
Great tuners!
More precise than my originals that came on my 1992 Peavey Predator.
Replacment machines
These do install easily but some knowledge is required. I had to drill a pilot hole for the screws on my particular guitar. But they do hold the strings in tune even with my "style" of playing. I have another guitar that these ar going on this weekend.
Really glad I bought these
I am 17 and two years ago I installed my first Floyd Rose Tremolo system. I always had problems with tuning so I upgraded to these in combination with an LSR Roller Nut. Works perfectly and stays in tune for a very long time. Very satisfied!
