Dunlop slides are great
Played slide for decades and Dunlop is as good as they get IMO. I particularly like the 212, though I have all of them that will work on pinky (over first joint in finger only). The 212 is long enough to cover 5 strings and short enough to make fretting with other fingers as easy as its going to get with a slide on. I keep several of this model around just to stash in guitar cases… read more and gig bags so I can always find at least one of them :-). The Pyrex has a great tone on both electric and acoustic.
Glass slide
Works good awsome clean sound very good buy
Fits like a dream
I have been playing guitar since I was a Pup but just started playing a Cigar Box Guitar a few months ago. These guitars are a blast to play and this slide works awesome with this instrument. They are light and responsive with great tone. I am a pinky slide player and this slide fits perfect to the first knuckle which is where I like it. I have long skinny fingers but have no idea… read more of pinky ring size. Just know this is ideal for that type of finger. As a now CBG player...this is the guy.
There IS a difference........
I've played glass slides made from bottle necks for a good while and like the sound over a brass or steel slide. I decided to give the Dunlop slide a try mostly because of its size. The small ID meant that it would fit well on my pinky without having to add mole skin or other fillers. Besides, the price was good and the shipping free. The first time I tried the slide, all I could… read more say was Wow!. I'm not an engineer so I don't know how a Pyrex slide can be smoother than a bottle neck, but it is. This slide is actually quieter sliding over the strings and puts out clean sound. If you play slide, give this one a try
Best Slide so far
It is everything Dunlop says. Yes it is warm, and made of high quality.I use it on my pinky, but it is a tight fit, which makes it uncomfortable after a little while when the finger warms up and gets swollen inside the tube. I wish that Dunlop made an 18mm-inner diameter with different length such as 58mm or 60mm. The other alternative fits my finger well (Model 202,) which is… read more 18mm inner diameter but too long for my pinky (69mm.)Finding a right size slide can be a daunting experience! But the experience of playing slide guitar is well worth the effort of searching.Sweetwater, as my favourite music store in all the world, should have more variety of slides from different makes.
