I have tried or owned many other slides. But this 218 is the one that I always trust and come back to. Just don't drop it on a hard tile or cement floor. I own multiple 218s. I fits my ring finger, doesn't slip off, easy to remove off and on quickly. Thick glass, warm tone, and good sustain.

I play it on my little finger and the length is perfect there. The heavy wall makes it feel secure against the strings with little pressure and seems to get a brighter sound.

I have been using the long (standard) version of this slide for years. Maybe a 215? Every few years I drop them and they break on hard surfaces. This round I decided to try several varieties including brass. The 218 Dunlop is my favorite. It plays like the taller version but is way easier to manage. More agile feel and control. Felt better right from the get go. I use my index… read more finger for slide so this size fits for that. Sweet water is easy to deal with and fair priced with free shipping. Yay for them :-)

Love this slide only reason for 4.5 is wish was a little heavier.

I had been using a longer slide with a thin wall and, I decided to try something different to see if I'd like it. The heavier wall and the shortness of the slide is a perfect combination for what I was looking for. Now granted slides are as different as the fingers that they go on just as are the people who use them. All that I can really say is that I tried several different slides… read more and, this one feels about the best and is easy to use to get the sound that I wanted.
