Works for everything
The tone of this brass slide is kind of in between steel and glass. Generally, steel sounds brighter/sustains longer and glass sounds warmer/sustains less. Steel can be too harsh on acoustic, and glass can be too soft on electric. Brass is like the perfect combination. What was most different for me at first was the feel... steel and glass are both a bit smoother. Brass can feel… read more like it "drags" just a little bit more on the strings... which I have grown to love. It seems like I can actually control it better and be more expressive with it. Gives a nice and rich singing character on electric or acoustic. Sounds fantastic on a Telecaster. Try it! Be sure to check the size chart first. This 222 fits my ring finger just like the 220 steel and the 212 glass.
Classic!
Love all Dunlop slides. They are quality, period. Just make sure you check the sizes, Dunlop has a chart online
Dunlop 222 Brass Slide - Medium - Medium Wall Thickness
I usually use a glass slide, but I got this one with my Guild F-250CE to achieve a different sound than the glass (which is also a Dunlop). Very pleased with my purchase. Thanks!
Fantastic Slide
Took me a will but have went and used many slides because I am playing allot of 3 string cigar box guitars and this is the only slide that I could find that would fit my finger. Great slide and a great price. ''thanks SweeetWater.
Great all-metal Brass Slide
This all-metal Brass Slide is a Size 9 ring size. I use it on my middle finger and it is a snug fit up to the middle joint as it should be. The brass gives the Slide a heavier feel than a glass or other composition Slide. This extra weight allows you to effortlessly run the Slide up and down the neck with ease. And the tone of this Brass Slide is deeper for a great sounding Slide.… read more I personally like this tone over that produced by a glass or other composition Slide. Just make sure what ring size your finger is that you use for the Slide. Some folks use their index finger and others use their ring finger or pinky. The choice is yours to make.
