Regarding review titled: Too short for string through mustang bass
I almost didn't buy these strings because I saw the review stating these were too short for the Mustang Bass. I contacted the manufacturer to see if they were long enough and they confirmed they would fit. So ignoring the bad review, I took a chance and ordered them from Sweetwater. I opened up the strings, starting with the G string since that is the string that needs to be the… read more longest based on the tuner arrangement. The tuner is 38" from the bridge and the string length of the Ernie Ball 45 gauge G string is 46". I can't imagine needing more than 8" to wrap around the tuner post. The other strings are the same length. I did notice that the tapering on the Ernie Ball 105 gauge E string barely reaches the tuner post before it tapers down. But I think that's by design as you don't really want to wrap a 105 gauge string around the post, and the tapering is well above the nut. I guess it's possible that the manufacturer has recently made these strings a little longer. I can definitely confirm that these strings will fit a Fender Mustang Bass.
Best strings for my SS basses
These strings came stock on my Sterling by Music Man Stingray Short Scale. I love the way they sound and feel! In fact, I ordered another set for my other short scale bass.
