Take up the slack?? there ain't none
These are typically the same as standard caste tuners but for one improvement, string lock. This feature limits the natural stretch of the strings from wear, It holds them tight and pretty much in tune. They keep even pressure on the neck and truss rod when not in use. This will extend the life of your instrument. Best you can get!!
Why buy Grovers?
Grovers are world renowned for staying in tune. A lot of epiphone guitars are standard with grovers. The mini 505c6 are locking for fast restring and staying tight. The knobs are very similar to stock tuners and are very comfortable, plus the added convenience of lockers make them the best you can get!
Groves are Groovy
I usually don't wait until Fender machine tuners wear out. I just swap them out ASAP. These are super easy to install and are absolutely wonderful. I will normally look for Grovers on new guitars.
Impatient
A few years ago I acquired a Fender B-Bender Nashville Telecaster - changed the pickups to Seymour Duncan Hot Rails immediately(we all know how Fender pickups sound) and I was trying to wait till the tuners wore out before installing Grovers - that didn't jive with my lack of patience. The Grovers are incredible. SOLID!
Awesome tuners
I had zero luck finding tuners for a 1994 Gibson Explorer "76 reissue. After having locking tuners on other guitars I really wanted locking tuners on this guitar but didn"t want to put any holes other than original in the headstock. So I got the dremel tool out and cut slots in these 505c6 tuners and absolutely love them.
