Looks great, nice refresh for my Tele

This "aged white pearloid" pickguard looks great on my black Tele. This guitar originally had a plain white guard that got a bit yellowed and scuffed up over time, and then I switched to all-black for a number of years, until now. I wasn't sure whether to go for this one or the "white" version, but I like how this turned out. In the photo you can see that it's not as bright of a… read more white as a plain white pickguard like on the Rickenbacker, but I really like it. I also got a fresh set of pickguard screws for it since my old ones were somewhat darkened and rusty; the fresh silver screw heads look better.

I put this on my 2017 Fender American Professional Tele 3-color sunburst guitar. I wish the guitar came with this pickguard as opposed to the plain white one. Should have made the swap when I first got the guitar.

It's hard to capture the color in a picture, so here it is with a Fender MOTO celluloid pick for comparison. Can you see the pick? It looks like they're made of the same stuff. It's beautiful on a black Telecaster.

I thought it looked great and then I figured out it was covered with protective plastic film! Peeling that stuff off made it more beautiful than I imagined. MOTO is "Mother Of TOilet seat", and it looks like mother of pearl. It gives my black Telecaster a beautiful sparkle and it isn't really aged-looking, it's bright and clear and not too white. It's way better than the sickish… read more lime pie green the American Professional Tele comes with.
