Superb feel
Being completely new to lap steel - and for that matter completely new to guitars of any kind - I experimented. I have a 54 Fender Champion student lap steel - that had been in storage since the mid 70s, and it came with a bakelite tone bar. Next experiment was with an Ernie Ball stainless steel bullet-medium weight, also from Sweetwater. The Lap Dawg came today - after an… read more adventurous 2 and a half week cross-country trip with FedEx. My pandemic frustration is really just me being jealous that my Lap Dawg got to travel and I didn't. But I can't take it out of my hand, and I've been playing beginner licks and riffs with it since it arrived 4 hours ago. I like all 3 - but the Lap Dawg is clearly the most versatile. Dunlop Lapdog
Just got in the mail, love it, new to lap style playing, so easy to hit the single strings, have been using a sheerhorn for me at my level the lapdog is better hands down
Most popular tone bar
I own a couple of these now, perfect weight, length and height, even for my small to medium sized hands.

The weight adds to the sustain… read more and the overall feel of the slide. The surface is smooth and polished to perfection. I highly recommend this slide for steel players. The only draw back and it"s not a big deal is it"s a little short when doing bar slants across some strings but they make the long dawg for that! Great slide!
Amazing
Any new Lap Steel players should go straight to this slide. Amazingly accurate and expressive.
