Fishman acoustic pickup element
I've used Fishman products for years and have always been very happy with them. A friend of mine noticed a loud hum when he amplified his Guild guitar. I've seen this problem before. The wire to the pickup element and at the point where it attaches to the pickup element is VERY sensitive! So, I ordered a Fishman AG1-125 pickup element. Removed the old element and installed the new Fishman element with very little soldering, and solved the problem. My friend is happy. Thanks Fishman!
Works Great
I got this as a replacement for a pickup that was just worn out. I bought two of these and they do require a little bit of experience with a drill and a soldering iron to install. If you don't feel confident get a luthier to install it. To help a little, install the pick-up first then solder it to the "plug". This replaces your strap pin on the end of your guitar so you have… read more to drill it out. An old guitar string or fishing twine will help you pull the "plug" through the hole and you will have to adjust it more than once to make proper connections. Check your soldering before anchoring it all down with a cord and amp. These pickups do not have an amplifier in them. You have to have a DI box to drive them on a big PA. I use the Behringer Acoustic DI box. It is burgundy, inexpensive, and works great.
