Nice sound
I put one of these pickups in my Godin Seagull and the sound through my Fishman Loudbox Mini 60 was stunning! Now I'm setting up a 30 year old Fender Dreadnaught and this is the pickup I'm going to use. Small venues, church, nursing homes; i don't need anything more.
I find this a pleasant surprise.
It has a full clear sound and with my marshall amp it is a wonderful fix for a sound junkie like me! I had to adjust the screws on the pickup, and they are really stiff so I guess I shouldnt have any movement from string vibration. Honestly it sounds like my pez pickup but a lot more clarity and body. I did drill one hole next to my other input slightly off center. So I can go… read more either way. But I have a feeling that I,m going to use the magnetic pickup the most. Every man to his on taste, but this is definitely giving me what I was looking for. More umph! and versatility. A whole lot of fun! Lots!
Fender Mesquite pickup
This pickup replaced the L.R. Baggs undersaddle pickup in my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe. I was never satisfied with the sound- thin and shrill. To me the Mesquite sounds fuller and almost natural. Output is satisfactory but I use a compressor and EQ pedal so I can boost it a little. I plug into a Princeton or a D.I./mixer. I really like that I can unplug the pickup from the endpin… read more jack for removal. Also like the adjustable polepieces. Fender supplied the wrong Allen wrench, oh well. Overall I'm very pleased with this pickup. I will be buying another one soon. As always great service from Richard Whittington and Sweetwater.
Great little pickup
I was a bit hesitant ordering this pickup without hearing it (could not find videos), but I could not be more pleased with its performance. It has a very warm sound, and has none of the harsh high end that many sound hole pick ups are prone to. Highly recommend this for someone looking for easy installation and great sound.
