Amber Glass Slide - Medium Review

Absolutely Phenomenal!!!

I bought this one b/c Rhett Shull has a signature version. And wow, this slide is so good. I have been struggling to get comfortable playing slide -- up until now w/ brass slides from Rock Slide (influenced by Ariel Posen), but for some reason it's been a struggle. That completely changed w/ this glass slide. It just is perfect. Fits nicely; great tone; easy to play. Music just… read more naturally came out. I will still use the brass ones, but using this one was like a light getting turned on. Very, very good.

Finally! This is the one

I own a bunch of slides and I've never been able to find one that fits really well on my ring finger. I knew the instant that I put this one on that it was perfect. The inner taper means it fits snugly from knuckle to finger tip and doesn't wobble or slip. The mellow tone sounds great with my resonator guitar. I'll definitely be back to pick up the brass version for my tele.

I thought the price was crazy until I tried it

I've been looking for the right glass slide for 40 years and saw this on the peg rack at Sweetwater and decided to try it. I wear a size 10 or 11 glove. It fits my ring or pinky snugly for great control. I love it! My previous Dunlop 213 was never good for me because the fit was so loose I couldnt control it. This Rock Slide has the smaller ID I need but the OD still rivals… read more that of the big 213. I also have had the brass version for years but I prefer a Dunlop 220 brass to that because I prefer the lighter weight. With the glass, weight is not a problem. $... seems steep for a glass slide but its better than having to keep looking at and trying other ones.

Smoooth

This is my second Rock Slide, and like the brass one that I bought earlier, it's another 5-star. The knuckle relief notch is the defining feature of the brass slide, but on this one it's the smooth glass surface that reduces noise on an acoustic guitar. The square edge on the straight side allows me to get closer to the knuckle bend,… read more which is important on the high E string, and the notch turned around gives my knuckle a little extra room to bend forward. So, no points off for either the notch not working as intended (it still helps) or the volume being lower. The buttery smoothness and the rich tone still make it the best acoustic slide I have ever used. More expensive than some other options, and worth it. Thanks to my Sales Engineer Dustin for always making it easy to get the right gear.

Rock Slide Amber Glass Slide

I picked up a variety of larger slides locally and from Sweetwater because I've been transitioning from pinky to ring finger slide. As soon as I put this one on I liked the way it fit. I love this slide and will likely order more.
