Easy low cost self install upgrade with reward!
Had these installed on my ESP LTD within 40 minutes. Much better gear ratio for precise tuning. Feels much better than the stock tuners and is a lot more stable. The self cutting mechanism means one less step I have to deal with while making it look better too. I can now change strings in less than half the time it took before and without it looking like frayed (sloppy) wires… read more poking around in the air off my headstock. These were simply drop in tuners as the barrel size was an exact fit and even the screw position for the back of the headstock was spot on. These are my 2nd set of self install locking auto cut tuners from D'addario and well worth every penny. My first set were the 3x3's for an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro of which I only had to slightly ream one hole. These in line 6's dropped right in and were an absolutely perfect fit. You won't believe the difference in how much better they feel too.
Over and Over
I loved these the first time that they have become my go-to when I want to replace my cheap tuners. I love the self-trimming feature! Just make sure the lock is unscrewed, feed the string through until taunt, tighten the lock and tune. That's it. I cuts the string giving you no string wrapping around or sticking up. Super easy
What I Was Expecting
Installed these on a Jackson JS-22 Dinky. Install with a string change took about 30 minutes, give or take. Aligned and fit like I expected. All the locking knobs were relatively sturdy feeling and weren't loose or cheap feeling. The string clipping feature worked as it should. Good alternative to something more expensive.
The Daddario just got a new fan with these.
I picked up these tuners with some NYXL 9-42 strings and my goodness! It really does help the tuning stability I have a glen burton strat that i got as a kid that im upgrading the parts to . And i finally see why guys always ask "does it have locking tuners. The auto trim is a extra added benefit and i dnt have to worry about my fingers getting stabbed and scratched from mis handles.… read more But these Daddario tuners are so nice are the icing on the cake for me And the funny part is I didn't even realize the brand also makes Rico reads For saxophones I'm a fan. They are awesome
Locking tuners are worth it!
I have to admit I hadn't really gotten on board with locking tuners, thinking that they were an over-hyped new step-child of guitar gear, but after having installed and used them,I can honestly say they will be going on every guitar I currently own.Putting on new strings is so much easier and the auto-trim feature is great, no more cutters and no more finger stabs from string ends.Jake… read more Trethaway has been awesome, great source of technical information while I was building this guitar, and he always gets my order out in minutes of placing it.I am very pleased with the service and the products I have gotten from Sweetwater, and will be buying all of my gear from them.
