Simply Amazing.
They installed very easily and work great! The auto-trim is perfect. Absolutely zero sharp ends to stab yourself, your case, or your wife with!! Hahaha!!
First Buy
This was my first buy from Sweetwater. Exceptionally professional. Was contacted personally by email through all stages of shipping and Charlie also made sure I was happy with the product once received. Will purchase more in the future
Well made, easy to use/install
These tuners are very well made, high quality, definitely higher quality than the stock tuners. Just as good as some tuners twice the price. Protip: pre-drill the holes for the tiny screws, also on my guitar I had to use a small piece of sandpaper to make the tuning peg holes a hair larger.
Very good, easy install locking tuners!
The tuners I bought were labelled as a demo from Sweetwater, only signs of being used I could find was that the box had been opened previously, tuners and their mounting hardware were pristine. Great way to save a few dollars! My future mods will involve gold hardware and the guitar is black, so these were a great find :) I installed these on a 2010 made in Mexico Fender Strat,… read more dropped in perfectly and after tightening stayed snug. There are screws provided to ensure they stay in place, and if you decide to use them you will need to drill some holes into the back of the headstock. These screws are obviously very small and if you don't drill the hole deep enough (or straight) you will more than likely strip the head of the screw, like I did on the first one :( Also make sure whatever screwdriver you use can clear the tuner, the locking screw does come out which helps for clearance a bit. The auto-trim feature is very handy and satisfying on the small gauge strings, once you get to the heavier gauges though you can feel the stress of the trimming run down the tuning peg, will have to wait and see how durable they are over years of string changes. That stress and the trouble with the screws are the only reason these aren't five stars for me, but these are really cool and do keep the guitar in tune!
The New Normal
More and more with guitars being sold you are seeing one option being made the standard now. Locking tuners are not just an upgrade anymore. So, naturally, when purchasing a used guitar online, I bought some gold ones. Even with a Floyd Rose locking trem system, I can tell a noticeable difference with how precise the tuning is before the strings are locked at the nut. On top of… read more that, the gold adds some detail to an otherwise simple layout. Definitely a great choice.
