Great amp

Very versatile great sounding amp - it will do clean Fender sounds, edge of breakup Fender sounds, high gain singing leads, great rock rhythm guitar, very punchy and tube like response, effective eq, really nice reverb with dwell level, With the 3 position foot switch you can leave your pedalboard at home for simple gigs. For reference my main amps for the last 25 years have been read more an original 1965 Fender blackface Vibrolux and a Mark 3 Mesa Boogie - this Quilter sounds just as good in a different way and is more versatile than those iconic amplifiers. I've been pairing the head with 2 12's - a 150 watt DV mark neodymium speaker and an EV 12L - I've never had the fully scalable power master over 50 watts with a pretty loud band. I am very satisfied when I take this to a gig - I set up play a few things and think - "yep, sounds great"

Best solid state amp.

Dream come true

This amp is simply amazing. The versatility is astounding. This sounds like the best tube amps I have owned and played in the past. It only weighs 4 lbs, so when you first pick it up it feels like a toy. Don't let that fool you. This thing is a beast. Since it's not a modeling amp, it takes pedals amazingly well. It's also made in the USA. Kudos to Pat Quilter.

Incredible sounds, something for everyone

For reference: I've paired this head w/ a DV Mark 1x12 silver cab. I don't know how Pat Quilter and his team does it. In a blindfolded test there would be no way to distinguish this sound from a tube amp. The EQ settings are more than ample for dialing-in the perfect tone. The limiter works well, the reverb sounds fantastic, and the tremolo works well, though I am mot a connoisseur read more of tremolo. My favorite circuit is the Plexi. I like gain and the Plexi circuit has plenty of it. More than my Orange Brent Hinds Terror, but definitely less than a 5150. I have no problem playing the solos from Blackened, Enter Sandman, I More Tears, pretty much 80's and 90's solos. I also play the rhythm tracks too, and they sound great, but obviously it won't sound as layered and thick as the studio tracks. There are endless insanely beautiful clean settings. I haven't picked a favorite yet, they really all sound good. My test is Planet Caravan, and I am able to get a clean, articulate, dynamic response from all tone circuits. Bonus: it comes with a lengthy power cord (thank you) and carrying case. I can't recommend this amp enough.
