Scared to drop this kind of money on an amp I never played but...
I was hesitant to get this beast. I waited over a year before pulling the trigger and not only because it's one of the most expensive music equipment I've ever own, but also there's not too many reviews and no dealers near me to try it out. I bought mine on Sweetwater and Josh our sales rep was fantastic! My main concern about the amp was if it was loud enough to breakthrough my… read more heavy handed Americana-Punk drummer (22+22 watts). Well, it's surely loud enough! We finally practiced last weekend and never got past 4 on the volume. It didn't have a lot of breakup though. I'll try to push the amp a little more next time and see where the sweet breakup sound is. I've had it since February with no issues. When the pitch shifting vibrato is activated and you're in the "stereo" setting and using an expression pedal, it sounds out of this world. Not exactly like a Leslie Organ but close and also different. The reverb wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not complaining about it though. I cranked up the reverb and it's very subtle. Sometimes I play surf guitar and want to crank it up so I have to use a pedal to get that sound. The Tremolo is great! No complaints there. Gives a nice rockabilly tremolo. Paired with a nice delay like my Keeley Memphis Sun, it really shines. Feel like you're scoring a David Lynch film. I've played the amp on Mono and messed with the Dry/Wet but once I heard the "stereo" setting, I don't want to go back. I have and had several amps from the makers we all know and still dig those, but this thing is so different and now my favorite in my collection. Hope to tour with it once this Covid thing is over. No regrets at all about my purchase.
