The Banshee 2 Is A Great Piece of Gear

Tom Shields

This talkbox is a "true" talkbox rather than a synthesizer or other re-imagining. But better! In addition to the standard feature of having all your guitar's fury routed to a horn driver, rammed up a tube and into your mouth for additional noise shaping, the pedal can operate wet, wet/dry, and dry (traditional talk boxes are wet signal only). It contains a small tube-powered read more amp with gain, level, and tone control, and an output for an external speaker. It does what it's supposed to and works very well. Easy setup. Your pedal board may look crowded but you'll find a way to make this thing fit.

Great sound

This talkbox is phenomenal! Got it and within minutes i was playing Rocky Mountain Way, sounding identical to Joe Walsh. Plenty of volume and works beautifully. If your looking for a top notch talkbox, thus is the one. Way too much fun!

Serious fun!

I've always wanted to play one of these and finally picked one up. From looking at it, you get a good idea of what it does and it certainly meets those expectations. However, I was not prepared for the sheer fun and creativity that this thing sparks! It's not something you will use on every song you play - not even on most - but when you do, it can really put a smile on your face!

Awesome

I've used it on guitar, guitar synth, an analog keyboard synth, and bass. It has nice crunch right outta the box, and you can add your favorite fuzz box or other effects as well. I really like the option of having my normal signal going at the same time, especially with my bass; I get the wacky talkbox effect thru a mic while my bass rig keeps pumping out low end.

Hands-Down Best on the Market

Major points to my sales engineer, Brandon Eden, for this one. Bought it a little over a year ago, and it is hands down the most well equipped and best sounding talkbox on the market right now. Eliminates the need for a wah pedal on your board and is a really fun effect in general. The Banshee II rocks! Key reasons this smokes the competition: - The Versatility: All of the knobs read more on this thing are very responsive and the amounts of different types of screams you can get out of it is insane. Max out the gain and tone and you've got the perfect smooth but authentic sound for hi-gain talkbox songs like Livin' On a Prayer or Sweet Emotion. Then dial the gain back to about 9 o'clock and bust out a little Peter Frampton or Rocky Mountain way. Very easy to "speak" with your guitar at lower gain settings, plus the output level is perfect for bedroom practice, and a good mic and PA will let you gig this thing no problem. - The Amp Enable/Disable Switch: All talkboxes need something like this. Let's face it: If you can't nail the rhythm of a talkbox riff before you stomp on the switch, the actual talkbox part will never sound right. This little switch lets you practice up rhythms and solos, while also getting used to the way to use your mouth during whatever you're trying to learn. It allows you to really take things one step at a time, and then when you're ready to perform, you can kill the amp and just get 100% talkboxy, screamy goodness. - The Speaker Ext. Port: With this red little guy, if you have a spare PA, you can basically make another amp out of the horn driver in your talkbox. That's pretty awesome. - The built in, switchable effects loop: I personally don't need this, but if you have a group of effects on your board you like to engage and disengage simultaneously, you can do that with the send and return jacks in the side of the pedal. Very handy! Great product, and I'm 100% satisfied. Rocktron really has outdone themselves with this one! Oh, and let's not forget how amazing Sweetwater's Service is. Free Shipping, no sales tax, and amazing customer service. It's really a no-brainer!
