Only missing one thing

First off this is one of the better octave pedals out there and feature alone put this on top. The tracking is very good and it's really fun to play with, my only wish is that it came with an exp input, not having that is somewhat of a letdown but TC did put in the mash button which is awesome it's just not as easy to use as a expression pedal.

This pedal has gotten a lot of flak on several forums, but I'm here to give it the 5-stars it deserves. Build quality is good as most of the middle-of-the-road TC pedals. But here's the thing: this thing works VERY well as long as you take the time to learn the TonePrint. The basic functions (detune, v1-v2, etc.) sound OK, the detune has a chorus vibe and the octave selection sounds read more good, almost like a synth organ. The engine driving this works very well, the tracking is phenomenal both in mono and poly. BUT THE TONE PRINT!! You can really get absolutely wild and that creativity and having 3 slots makes this thing worth the money. One thing to keep in mind that people reviewing it didn't appreciate: don't go into this thinking the MASH will function as a replacement for expression pedals and your other pitch tools. The MASH is more of a "instant modulation" effect rather than an expression pedal. Think of it this way: imagine if you could momentarily modulate settings on a pedal and have it snap back to the original setting. That's what MASH does, and it does it very well if you program the Tone Print that way. The only thing about this (and all pitch pedals) is knowing where to put it in the signal chain. To get the best performance, I'd put it after compression and before anything with complex harmonics like distortion (or vibrato/other pitch modulation). In summary: this isn't a pedal to buy, plug in, and play. You'll get just average results. Take the time to download TonePrint and play with the settings. You will be very happy with what this pedal can do.

Works, just not a fan

i have been through the entire range of these similar format enclosure tc electronic pedals and the mere fact I have none of them now and this one is being returned says enough. Not my cup of tea, the editor never works on my tablet, I do not use a cell phone for this beaming thing and no longer have a portable laptop. All that being said the editor is probably a whole lot of variable read more issues that would just further not make me love the pedal. I have tried it before and after my drive section, stereo and mono and really it works but I think for what I need and like my Whammy V was a better thing for me, but it seemed to favor single coils more so than my LesPaul's so off it went. I am just done with these tc pedals, might be someone else's golden grail but for me just does not do the deal. Personally I love the 5th dwn and that is why I thought I try it, does fine and all that but it seemed you had to get into the editor to make the Whammy button work better and so on. The sales hype and claims are glorious on all these pedals but they are all a came and went prospect for me.I am sure others will find them glorious wonders of sonic ecstasy but just not for me.
