Dr Z CAZ-45
I have had this amp for a while now.I own a lot of amps. This has become one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of the controls. It is always easy to find a good tone without a lot of tweaking. The CAZ-45 has great clean sounds if set right, and also capable of amazing crunch tones. At higher gain settings it really comes to life and offers serious over driven tones just as good… read more or better than my vintage Marshall 2203 and 2204, and it will keep those tones at low volumes.I like that it has a very usable effects loop. The build quality is top notch !
Wonderful amp
I've had this amp for a couple months now and want to share some observations. Great, great, fantastic amplifier. It has a lot of control over the tone and feel, but is one of those amps where it just sounds good no matter you set it. The articulation and clarity when using a lot of gain is really fun and musical, like you can significantly change the sound based on how hard or… read more soft you pick single note lines, like surprisingly so. You can take it anywhere from the old great Santana sounds, both lead and cleaner rhythm with the guitar volume, you can run through a ton of Trower or Zep just by manipulating the guitar, or it can do a souped up Marshall or modern gain sound. It can also do some great old Marshall cranked sounds even at really low volume, like so low you hear the guitar strings acoustically standing right in front of the amp (the master level control is really quite remarkable. The eq section is really well done, like the frequency points and Q just seem perfect and have a really wide musical range. Sounds great with any guitar, and the character of each guitar is never lost. Very quiet from a noise standpoint. Musical feedback at reasonable volumes. Always "musical" and never piercing, or muddy, or just anything undesirable about the tone. I think it's a special amplifier, more "musical instrument" than amp. My wife seems just as enthused as I do about it, and that must say something!
