After having a really high dollar custom bass on hand for 5 months, and having to return it, I needed something that would fit the bill. I wanted the playability, tone, and quality of a custom instrument, but I didn't need gold appointments and intricate inlays. The neck approaches the quickness of my fretless Ibanez, and the PJ configuration is as mammoth as anything I've picked up. I bought this bass with the intention of refinishing the body, and making it my mod platform, but honestly, the black isn't as dark as the photos online make it out to be, and the preamp is more than fine for my situation. This is the 5 string you want.
