The Weirdest (Usable) Thing I've Ever Owned
First things first- this is one of the strangest yet pleasing effects I have ever heard. Think if a Q Filter had a baby with the hybrid of a tape delay and a pitch shifter. To call it a wah function isn't quite right so I'll just call it a "wah-type thing" from here on out. The controls are a bit out there but basically the knobs are filter, pitch shift/tape glitch, and Wah-Type-Thing.… read more That's your Position, Velocity, and Acceleration. Then there's the Hold function. What it does depends on your attack relative to when you hit the switch; it drones, sputters, or does something in between. Got it? Read it again if you need to. Takes a bit to figure out. It's most noticable and, for me, easiest to use when the filter's turned all the way up and I've been using it exclusively with an expression pedal (kind of a must to get the most out of it). Turn it all the way up and the expression pedal can do pitch shift/tape glitch effects up to the note, or (in the toggle down position) psychedelic wah-type-stuff. Put it somewhere in between and you get a whole pallete of weirdness. One thing I will say is, from what I can tell, the controls sympathetic to some degree at least so if you're not a big fan of tweaking knobs this maybe isn't for you. I have a few dozen out there effects with sympathetic controls and ... well, the whole 9. This is by far my favorite for creating unusual and unexpected sounds.
