Fit it in the mix before it hits the microphone!

Think of this pedal as a utility to keep your guitar's frequencies where they belong, out of the bass's way and with less screechy high end that doesn't really do anyone any good. A little Q goes a long way, and a part can stick out in a mix without being so loud that it washes out everything else. Study the work of the greats, particularly Jimmy Page and Tom Shulz (of Boston) and read more it all starts to make sense. That's the basics, but if you want the long story: In the last couple months i've been on a journey to record in such a way that the song almost mixes itself by how it's arranged and recorded. I've learned partially through my father, who has always told me those giant guitar sounds that are so great in person are mostly a nightmare in recording, especially mixing, and the point was hit home by Rick Beato's "what makes this song great" seres. In particular, it's best demonstrated in his episodes on the aforementioned Boston and Led Zeppelin songs, which are masterpieces of recording. Rick pulled out this pedal on his video on Boston's 1975 song "Hitch a Ride" featuring one of the greatest guitar solos ever done, and i needed the strange pedal he used to get that ideal guitar tone. I love a wall of fuzzy guitars as much as the next guy, maybe more, but to make that sound work in a mix you have to mutilate it with EQ, or risk having a muddy puddle of inarticulate bass, floppy drums, and inaudible vocals, but at least the precious distorted guitars take up plenty of room. This pedal, (or a carefully used multi band EQ) is the solution, boosting what you need and cutting what you don't, which may sound a little funny on it's own, but sounds fantastic in the mix. Try it out, it will change the way you record, and save you a lot of headaches once you go to mix!

Sculpted Tone

Wah pedals are great. I wanted a specific Wah tone, without the "back & forth" of the search that happens with the standard Wah. I took about a minute to dial in the sound I like, and there it was. This sound may not be for everybody, but I absolutely Love this pedal. Think Zakk Wylde or Brian May - that type of tone. I use this pedal for some leads - rarely rhythm parts. It doesn't read more take up much real estate on my board either. It's solid.

Great Pedal

Think Zakk Wilde's tone, or Brian May's tone.,The thing I Love about this pedal is your exact "frequency shaved" tone awaits with one click of the button. If you take about a minute to dial in a pleasing tone - the "sweet spot" is there. Like any pedal, you can also dial the settings that result in odd & unpleasant tones. First thing I did this morning was pick up my guitar, turn read more on the amp, and listen to this thing. It's as awesome as I thought it sounded. PS: I have a much more expensive version of this type of pedal that has two foot switches & more options. I MUCH PREFER this pedal. In *Live* situations I just want what I want with one switch. Step on it - you're there.

Classic Lead Tones and Sustain

First, thanks to Sweetwater and Brian Kearns who always get me the best gear the best price in short order. This pedal did not replace my wah since I use it across a wide range of tones, but if you're looking for that fixed wah tone ala Michael Schenker, this is the ticket. It will also provide an incredible amount of sustain with the volume set past noon. Definitely with the money.
