Sweetwater and the Dsl100hr head and the 1960a cabinet I purchased are totally in sync! Ed Nystrom and team members really make a difference when it comes to making sure that their customers are happy and taken care of in timely fashion! So glad I decided to purchase these items from Sweetwater! I cannot tell you how satisfied I am with the sales, the shipping and the continuity read more of everything. Way to go Sweetwater!

Hell of an Amp!

So let me start off by saying I had a Marshall JVM410h w/ a 1960B cab which I sold about 6 years ago (was my dream amp) to help through some hard times. Was one of my favorite amps I ever owned except it was a bit noisy even with a boss ns2 to quiet it down a bit. Ever since I sold it Ive wanted it back. Though I can't justify dropping $4000 on a half stack. I was however able to read more swing 1400 for this DSL100hr and MX412BR cab. I played on a dsl40c at gc and loved I just hoped the head would be as pleasing. So I pulled the trigger and ordered the head and cab through Sweetwater (gc is where I try things out to see if I want them due to I live in upstate ny and then order from sweetwater, to many bad experiences with gc. sweetwater's quality control is far superior.) Anyway I talked to Evan who I've always gone through since I started ordering from sweetwater and as usual they got it to me fast, 4 days after I had called, with updates every step of the way. When the head and cab showed up it was packaged nicely. So to the amp... this thing is probably the best bang for your buck out there Im literally so happy that it sounds like a marshall. It's a 2 channel but minus the 2 extra channels and separate eqs it's just as good as I remember my jvm, without the noise didn't even have to put the ns2 into it. Had tuned the EQs to my liking in no time. Cleans are nice marshall clean, crunch has the marshall roar close to that of the classic super lead, od1 has a brown sound to 80s metal and od2 is all out high gain. All channels sound great. I Will say go over 11 o'clock gain on OD2 it does turn to mush trust me you don't need much more and if you do push it with an od pedal, and over 2 o'clock on od1 starts to mud up as well. I keep resonance all the way down if I'm playing loud if I'm at bedroom level I do 11 o'clock and it sounds great, presence I keep around 3 o'clock all the time. The Reverb is a joke but for me not a deal breaker, separate master volumes awesome! I was very skeptical with it being made in vietnam but both the head and cab are killer, can't speak for components and reliability as I only had it for a month but tone wise it's a beast, if you are on the fence about if a vietnamese marshall can sound as good as a uk marshall I'm hear to tell you it can. I've owned and traded or sold in the past a peavey 6505, marshall jvm410, marshall jcm900, krank krankenstein and a mesa dual rectifier, all good in their own way but I would say the dsl is more versatile than any of them with the exception of the JVM. Thanks again Evan Mehre and sweetwater for delivering great quality controlled products everytime since I switched to you guys 5 years ago.

Heaven and hell

This amp will deliver whatever sound you need. Paired with the MX cabinets and less than half of the big brother it still puts a smile on your face. The clean channel is precise but the dirty channel is punchy and loud. You will be impressed. Thanks Jason.

That Marshall Sound

I have a Marshall DSL40 and it sounds great but I've always wanted a big Marshall setup. I decided to step up and get myself the DSL100HR paired with the MX412AR. In a word...WOW. It sounds great and has that classic Marshall crunch. It is punishing loud even at 50W. So glad I also got the JHS Little Black Amp Box. It allows me to turn the amp up to where it wants to be and read more dial back the volume so I don't make anyone angry or deaf. If you have the opportunity to get your hands on one of these you should. I can't recommend it enough.

Awesome, nuff said.

What a beautiful beast. I had always wanted a Marshall and the good ole boys at Sweetwater made me an offer I couldn't refuse. This thing is outstanding. Great tones across all the channels, and a twin master volume set up that actually works. At 50 watts I can get all the tine I want and still keep the volume at a friendly level at the house. Kick it to 100 watts and crank up the read more masters and watch out - yeah, it's punishingly loud. Great amp. I did opt to get the 6 mode peddle (Marshall PEDL-91005), the thing works great and reall adds to the functionality of the amp when recording or playing live.
