Monster Dual Rectifier

I've owned Marshalls for 35 years. This purchase is my first venture out of the Marshall universe, at least for large tube heads. First impressions, this head is a monster! The power section is super clean, like a Fender twin. The 3 preamp channels go from Fender clean to Soldano crunch instantly. This head has tons of headroom and tons of bass. An EQ or Boost pedal helps tame read more frequencies under 80 hz. While I still own 2 Marshall JVMs and I love their midrange crunch and power amp breakup. The Boogie Dual Rec is in its own class and is truly legendary!

The best Rectifier revision to date

You Pre-500 REV C and D guys save your money, the revoiced multiwatt covers those tones and actually has one of the best cleans available for a high gain head. The presence is now configured via relay to the appropriate mode unlike the 1st gen 3 channel which is a great sounding head but a little too dark and flubby. It definitely needed a boost to tighten and brighten. The multiwatt read more doesn't need it. Set the bass under 1200 and it tightens up with quick but fluid attack. It's very sensitive to pickup choice so not all pickups will give you that raging attack. I've used PAF antiquities and Suhr SSV and SSV+ and they sound great. The eq curve of the Duncan JB is near perfect for the recto and really I'm not big on the JB to be honest but it works really well. Can't tell you how pleased I am with this head. I own Bogner's, Friedman's and Soldano's and have a Boogie JP2C and this recto sounds absurdly huge in comparison.

Excellent Amp

Great build quality that you can see and feel, very flexible tone, nice features. The tones aren't as "loose" as a Marshall and not as "tight" as a Diezel. You can get anything from crystal clean to more distortion than you can use right from the amp. The tone and presence controls have a wide range to them and make it easy to dial in "your" sound. I have zero complaints about this read more amp.
