Best & long lasting bass strings

Randy Tellez

After some small venue gigging and night club sit in bass playing back in Los Angeles back in the early 70's and a fair amount of jamming with various other local musicians for another 20 years, I've slowed way down playing bass guitar. Several years or so ago I decided to try these D'Adarrio flat wound Chrome strings on my Fender Precision. WOW. I've gone for a year not touching read more my bass.. but after that much time they remained almost in perfect tune but for a slight twist of the tuning machine knobs. No other bass or strings EVER stayed that close to being in perfect pitch after sitting untouched for that length of time. And the sales rep (Joel) is one of the greatest sales rep you can deal with. Stays on top of things and responds/reply's to any issue much quicker than the average rep. You can't go wrong with him and his great phone demeanor.

I've been playing bass for years and decided to try some flat-wounds about 7 years ago. I never went back.I LOVE these stringsAnd don't let the description fool you... I play VERY hard rock and roll and these strings punch RIGHT THRU the bass drum. at $ a set, it gets pretty expensive to change them once a year on every one of my guitars, whether my guitars need it or not, but they read more are worth every dime.

My sales tech Jonathon Casarow is always available to send me what I need. I don't even call the shop, I just email Jonathon what I need and it's done! I'm extremely happy with the service and especially Jonathon. If I'm interested in something he'll call be to let me know if it's in stock or if it's on favorable financing. Sometimes I don't have the cash but with my Sweetwater read more card it's a breeze......and affordable. Very happy with Sweetwater and Jonathon!

Beginning bassist here and purchased my first bass, Squire Affinity Precision Bass PJ from Sweetwater. Was interested in Flatwounds but had no idea what to get or what brand. Emailed Sweetwater and Alex Mattingly responded with recommended flatwounds. I went with the D'Addario as he mentioned those were the strings he uses. Thank you Alex! I'm still a beginner but my teacher is read more so impressed with my playing! (Although he may be more impressed with the flatwounds). :) Service was excellent and you got me with the candy!!!
