Great Hollow-body Classic!
It looks great, sounds great, is fun to play, and I can't wait to pair it with the new tube amp I'll be upgrading to.
Epi Sheraton
Hey guys, will just add my 2 cents here and try to be short though. I've been playing for 20 years now and I can say only this. Forget about what you read on the internet in term that this is second rate guitar good for the money...it's gorgeous guitar and it's playability and sound is excellent! I played and owned different guitars but I ended up with am. pro strat and epi sher… read more II pro and don't think I'll ever need any other guitar because these those are able to produce whatever sound I can think of apart from metal and hardrock of course. Finish is beautiful and neck and fretboard sooooo comfortable to play. I only replaced tuning nobs because I don't like plastic ones in general but that's all, no need to do any other changes. It's great axe, go for it you want regret!
Sheraton II Pro
I have heard and read all the digs against Epiphone. Not a rosewood fingerboard, its gritty. Fret wires are sharp. fretboard needs crowning. NONESENSE. Out of the box all I needed to do was tune up and play. I have no fit and finish issues. No lacquer on the bindings. Very will built and great sounding guitar. I love the probuckers. Jazz to gritty blues all day long. Than you Brent!
I dont do reviews
The internet sucks and I try to keep my opinion to myself but... I feel obligated to review this guitar! I had it set up at sweetater and shipped to California. I happen to have a cupla days of me time, and gotta say , I'm finding it hard to put down. It's awesome and was set up perfectly. I could blab on a bit more but ....if yer askin me ....buy it . Now I'm gonna go eat and… read more get cleaned up (after I play guitar for a bit more)
Flawless construction and sound
Thanks to Jonathan for his head's up and flawless customer service. The Epiphone Sheraton may be the best guitar available in its price range. Although made in Indonesia, it rivals the best Gibsons in quality. There are no flaws in the finish. The frets are balanced with no sharp ends. The pao ferro fingerboard has a beautiful grain structure and the neck and headstock inlays… read more are stunning. The only negative is that this is a somewhat heavy guitar, about the same weight as a Les Paul. I was going to replace the pickups, but after playing for several weeks, have come to really like the ProBuckers. I don't use the coil-splitter much, but it does provide versatility. I made some mods to the guitar. I installed a Les Trem vibrato and a roller bridge. I also installed an arm rest that matches the pickguard, and replaced the gold knobs with black ones. I did adjust the truss rod. Every guitar, no matter how carefully it's set up will probably need an adjustment due to climate change, and the specific requirements of the individual player. I always go for the lowest action without buzzing. My roller bridge matches the 12 inch neck radius. It's very fast and the intonation is perfect. Unplugged it isn't as loud as my Epiphone Joe Pass, but that's a full hollow body without a center block. It is loud enough to hear yourself practicing without driving everyone else out of the room. I have over a dozen quality electric guitars, but none are superior to this Sheraton. It's as good as the best. Oh, as a final note, I installed the D'Addario 9.5 - 44 strings. They are really perfect for jazz, blues, rock, and especially for the Les Trem vibrato.
