This is a very nice guitar, light, easy to tune and sounds brilliant whether plugged in or not. It has a great acoustic resonance if you want to practice quietly.

Great guitar, play anything you want on it. Only minus is that they should have used a battery to power instead of having to recharge it with the USB plug

Exactly what I was looking for

First let me say how great it is dealing with Sweetwater and my sales engineer Alex Jasiak they work hard to figure out what your needs are and find the right product. I wasn't sure this guitar was going to work for exactly what I was looking for and after Alex and I talked about everything I decided to go for it. I play in a couple of different groups, one is a duo acoustic gig read more and the other is a full band doing everything from Rock to country so I needed something that fit the bill and I wouldn't have to carry a lot of gear to the gig. For the acoustic gigs I can switch between what ever acoustic body sound I want to use, this works great with you have two acoustic players and you don't want to try and figure out how to play it different. haha The electric pickup gets you through about anything you would need to do and you can add pedals to make it kick. Bottom line this is one of the best buys I've made and will probably end up playing it more and more. Let's not forget that you don't have to plug it in to practice, by it's self it's loud enough that the wife doesn't have to close the door on you.... haha

Great guitar..sounds great..easy to play..can make some really cool sounds..well worth the money..Sweetwater is the place to buy instruments..so much better than Guitar Center. At Sweetwater, they care about you AFTER the purchase..unlike Guitar Center. Customer service is great at Sweetwater and they are always prepared to assist you with any issues..and they respond quickly. Sweetwater read more is the only place I will buy musical instruments from now on.

Acoustasonic Telecaster surprise

I purchased the Acoustasonic based on independent reviews saying the guitar sounded like an acoustic guitar. And as advertised it has a great acoustic sound. My surprise was the ease I experienced when playing chords that on other guitars were a bit more trying.

Versatile Stage Guitar! Is it for you???

Matt

After over a decade of waiting for a decent hybrid guitar to be built, and almost 3 years of waiting to see where Fender took their Acoustasonic line, I finally bit the bullet and purchased the American Acoustasonic Telecaster in Steel Blue. Is it worth the price? That's relative to each individual. If you want a stage guitar that can produce convincing acoustic guitar tones, usable read more electric tones and is lightweight and slim, then the Acoustasonic line is at least worth looking into. They are also not the only option. Godin makes the Multiac Steel, which is a similar concept. Anderson Guitarworks have made the Crowdster for a long time now, though it's even more expensive. As primarily an acoustic player with a background in worship leading, I've been wanting a guitar that fits this mold, and could give me usable electric tones if I ever need them. Is it perfect? No. Is it the best live acoustic guitar tone you can have? Again, that's a subjective opinion but for me that's also a no. Will it beat out a regular Tele through an electric amp? Again, probably not. But IMO the acoustic tones sound anywhere from good to fantastic depending on the gear you run it through, and the electric tones are actually usable. And the fact you can actually get a response from it acoustically without plugging in is a bonus, and makes me want to keep it around to pick up and play whenever I feel like it. These combinations, and the fact that the guitar actually plays great, is why I personally decided to finally buy the Acoustasonic Tele. Only time (and many Sundays and other live gigs) will tell how well it holds up. A guitar like this will always come with questions. If you can ask the right questions and be able to give yourself honest answers, then you will be happy with your decision to either purchase one of these or to pass on it. Good luck!

Flexibility!!!!

Playing in a cover band, I need a guitar that gives me a spectrum of sounds. I showed up at rehearsal with the Acoustasonic and played a song where I was able to switch from acoustic setting to full blown overdriven electric!!! My singer was in disbelief!!!! I'm even able to do guitar solos!! Well worth it!!!

Amazing guitar! Great service!

This guitar is exactly what I hoped it would be. Sounds incredible with an amp; and actually sounds really really good completely unplugged just playing on the couch. The options are great and allow you to have the classic acoustic sound, the classic telecaster electric sound, and multiple choices in between. The guitar is light, easy and fun to play, quality built, and looks amazing read more (the sunburst is beautiful). Easily the best guitar I've ever owned. Fender has hit a home run! Sweetwater, especially Zach, made the purchasing and delivery process easy, fun, and smooth. Thanks! Bill

Let's be clear, I am not an electric guitar player. But I work in a band that plays some rock and country, that requires more lead than an acoustic will provide. This guitar is the perfect answer for that. No need for two guitars, flip the switch. The acoustic tones are close to dreadnaught, and the electric tone is close to Tele. I did a lot of research and was still doubtful, read more but this guitar is quality made and super versatile.

Great sounding

This guitar is totally amazing to play the sounds are fantastic. I am no expert, I am just a beginning guitar player. Should have started many years ago. If you play blues, folk or rock the sounds this Fender can make is a all around guitar., Sincerely, Jim Lawson

Plays really well, including sustain. Have not "ghigged" with it yet, but hopefully before too long. Considering its form-factor, it sounds surprisingly good unplugged. It sounds phenominal via amplification.

Just a note of info. I own 26 guitars. I have beenplaying music for nearly 40 years. This guitar is a true gift for an acoustic guitar player. The versatility of the tones are truly amazing. The bonus is the comfort and playability. Keep the sound clean and you'll here the true workmanship. This one is for you.

Quality, playability, versatility, creativity and pure pleasurable

I've been playing the guitar since 1967 when I was in a band called Psychogenic Formulations. I've been through and I own many guitars. This by far is the most fun versatile guitar I've ever owned. My wife plays the Ukulele and we perform at brew pubs, farmer markets, nursing homes, charity and private events. I received my Fender Acoustasonic Strat, Natural in early June. We haven't read more had a paying gig since March due to COVID19. However, we have done a ZOOM high school reunion gig and 2 front porch gigs for our neighbors and a third this Saturday. It's ironic that this guitar is made in Corona, California. We play a variety of songs; folk, country, rock, classics, blues, and oldies to contemporary. We customize our play list based on the gig/audience. I've been going through our 109 song list and figuring out the setting for each song on my Acoustasonic Strat. What a blast! I will no longer have to bring my Martin acoustic and my Les Paul Standard to every gig. The Fender Acoustasonic Strat is a quality instrument with wonderful playability, versatility, creativity and such a pleasurable instrument to play. I want to thank Ashton Vaudt who has been my Sweetwater Sales Engineer for many years. He's professional, knowledgeable, supportive and friendly. The photo is the mini-Martin that I bought from Sweetwater.

Replacing a Martin?

Ted Loughry

I bought this guitar intending to replace the Martin Performing Artist Cutaway Acoustic that I had been borrowing for the last few years. I play in brewery taprooms most weekends, or at least I was until Covid-19. I loop songs allot and play solos over the loops to add some pizzaz to my sets. When I began bringing an electric to my gigs to play lead, I decided that something read more had to change. I mean another guitar and amp meant another trip to and from the car and I don't need that. After an extensive late night research session I pulled the trigger on a surf green Acoustasonic Tele because it matched my surf green Strat. I'm not a big fan of the translucent dull finish but it has grown on me and people at gigs love it! I have not used the Martin since getting this thing, and no more second guitar! Amplified, the acoustic sounds are great and the middle position picks up body thumps just like the Martin. The electric sounds are ok... It would be nice to have a tone knob to take some of that Tele bite off, but for lead lines it works. I'm wondering if I should have waited for the Strat but they did not offer it in surf green, so now I have my first ever Tele.

Koa Telecaster Acoustasonic

I have held off writing this review for a couple of weeks and after a few live performances. First, Sweetwater treated me (and my wife who secretly purchased this for me) very well. Josh Sackett is the Sweetwater Sales Engineer I deal with and he is always outstanding. The guitar was perfect when I opened the case. Now for the guitar. I was never able to actually try one before read more purchasing so I only had video reviews to go by and the advice of Josh Sackett. I wanted a guitar that gave me primarily acoustic tones but played like an electric. This guitar design from Fender seemed to fit the desire. I am a fan of Telecasters anyway. It is striking in person and gets many compliments. Ultimately, it is about how the guitar sounds and feels. It sounds amazing plugged in. I explore the various tones relentlessly. I practice unplugged quite often and I was actually surprised that it sounds rather pleasant without being plugged into an amp. Certainly serviceable to practice or learn a new song. I play in a worship band and it can handle any type of song they ask of me. It is very light and comfortable. The neck is great - not as thick as my Kotzen model tele but very comfortable. It was very expensive (for me) being the exotic koa model. However, it provides so much in return with the variety of tones.

Amazing Acoustasonic Tones

Fender and Fishman have hit a home run for the acoustic sounds that come from this hybrid player. I got it for better amplified Acoustic sounds (louder without feedback) and it didn't disappoint. Even my Wife made the comment that she was surprised it didn't just sound like another electric guitar when she saw I was plugging it in. I didn't care for the Fender coated strings that read more come on it but after changing to a set of Elixir Nanoweb strings, the Acoustasonic really came to Life and was much easier on my hands. I think the electric sounds it gets are no replacement for a solid-body guitar, but it could get you by in a pinch. But Acoustically, it's a Killer and it's also very fun to play when unplugged. Comfortable and light as a feather.

The familiar feel of a tele with so much more acoustically

This guitar is great and does everything it says. Easy to play with that familiar tele feel but with so much more to offer acoustically. Love the aesthetics and the sound.....

This Guitar Does it All

I've seen a lot of reviews online talking about the practicality of playing this online, however i want to bring focus onto how convenient this guitar is in a recording environment. I run this guitar through my Headrush FX Pedal Board and the tones that this guitar can produce will help you find your album's tone with ease. The blends between the A & B tones through each position read more really hone in on the feel you might be trying to produce. I love the Cajon feel of the contact mic in position 3B. it really inspires you the moment you pick it up and start strumming. You'll want a loop pedal for this one.

Acoustasonic...Just what you would expect.

If you are looking for a guitar that sounds like an acoustic but plays like and electric this is as close as you are going to get. The telecaster sound is close enough also. This is a neck heavy guitar...I recommend a counter weight on the strap. Even with the counter weight I use, it is still very light and comfortable. I've waited to do a review to get a real since of how this read more guitar feels, sounds and plays after the new wears off. My J200, D-28, Yari custom and Telecaster haven't been picked up and played since the arrival of the Acoustasonic. Not ready to sell anything but I truly enjoy playing the Acoustasonic.

I just received my Acoustasonic Telecaster yesterday....finally! I have waited.....sometimes not so patiently... for this amazing guitar for almost 3 months. I think I have seen every YouTube video made since it was released in January. I didn't want to order it from anyone but Sweetwater. My Sales Engineer is Jason Koons and he is the best! I ordered it in February, and he read more kept be up to date with any delays and statuses until it shipped. Anyway.....I have played it through a Boss Acoustic Amp, and a little through a Blackstar Fly3 just to try it out. The electric tones sound pretty darn good through the acoustic amp, but really shine on an electric amp in my opinion. And the acoustic tones really shine on an acoustic amp or PA. I think for shows I will be running it through and A/B switch between an electric amp and the PA to keep it simple. The tones are awesome and it feels great. If you are on the fence......get off and get one of these babies! :-)

A Versatile Tool

This guitar has a nice feeling neck, like playing a Tele. It's also impressively loud when played acoustically although would be blown out by a dreadnought. The modeled acoustic guitars sound really good and the single coil sounds great in both normal and fat modes. It's comfortable to play, I even use it as a couch guitar. One minus is the magnetic pickup is louder than the read more acoustic sounds. For live applications or even recording you might want a boost or compression pedal. That's based on my experience running it through the clean channel of a Katana Air. YMMV, maybe.
