Totally worth the money

I love my Polar White Fender Player Jazz V.. I have several high end basses (Modulus, Ernie Ball SR Special, Roscoe..) and gig out a lot. I wanted a solid 5 string that was light weight and totally passive for smaller gigs where I didn't have room for a back up bass or where stage size was limited and I needed one bass that could fit the bill - this is it. It sounds excellent just read more put a new set of strings, DR Sunbeams (45-125) and it is incredible. Gig tomorrow night and this bass is coming with me. this is the real deal.

Solid 5 string Jazz

I recently joined a band that is doing some funk and country music. I needed that extra low end and found this Fender Jazz on line at Sweetwater (the only place in my estimation to buy gear). The action and intonation were dead on right out of the box. Sounds great. My new band mates had nothing but great things to say about it! I am very pleased with this bass and will be playing read more it for years to come. Thank you Chris Goldbach for always taking the time to make sure it's right!!

Great Value On A Quality Bass

I've had mine for a year and although it was an unusual year that kept me and most musicians from performing, I did get a couple gigs in. I love the solid feel, the tone and the looks of this Fender bass. I prefer these non active pickups so that I don't have to worry about a battery giving out mid show- which has happened to me. The action was good right off the bat. The stock read more strings are just ok but I'll be putting Rotosound strings on shortly for their added tone and sustain. This is a genuine Fender Jazz Bass and it's as good as any of the previous American made basses that I've tried in the past.

Love this bass. It took awhile to get used to the wider neck and string spacing since this was my first 5 string. Now it is my go to bass and I play it every day. Very happy with the tone and action of the bass. Excellent value for the money. Customer service is why I keep coming back to Sweetwater. The setup performed by Sweetwater technicians was much better than my other basses read more when they were first purchased in store. Also, sales engineer kept me informed of the progress of my order and followed up to see if I was satisfied with my gear.

Great price and quality

I picked one of these up a year ago because my 4 string didn't have a low enough range for the music I was being asked to produce (e.g., R&B, rap, trap, etc.). Spending twice the $$$ for an American made J-Bass wasn't out of the question, yet I did't go that route because I didn't think it sounded twice as good as this MIM bass. Other basses sounded way too snappy for my liking. read more They might be great for metal, but I needed a smooth, rich tone. This bass definitely delivers. The Pau Ferro fingerboard provides exactly what I was looking for. Beyond that, an EQ and certain plugins make this bass sound incredible. I've had many commissions from artists who LOVE bass. I haven't had a single complaint about the sound of the bass. In fact, the opposite is true. Many artists have asked how I got such a nice bass tone. Thank you, Casey Gerlach at Sweetwater. You always provide excellent customer service. I appreciate ya.

Great bass for my first 5-string

I really like this bass and I'm learning to use that 5th string in conjunction with the 4 that I've been using for years. The tone is great and I have had many compliments on how great this bass sounds. I'm running this through a 200W Fender Rumble combo amp. I have never really liked this amp, until now. Hmm, maybe it was my old 4 string that was the problem, ya think? Anyway, read more I love this bass and would recommend it for anyone that needs to make the switch to 5-string, which I needed to do.

Great sound and feel

Very good bass. Well balanced, and has perfect fretwork. The pickups are very powerful but sound a little dark at first, but I think they actually sound fine with he right EQ. The finish on the instrument was very good, and had a perfect shine. Overall, just a very playable instrument and I would recommend it to anyone. One thing that I think is a bit weird is that the pole pieces read more on the pickups do not align well with the B-String, but from what I can tell all 5 string basses have this issue. Seems weird to me, but I guess it is supposed to be like that.

As a worship musician, I have been on the quest for a rich, warm, pure sounding tone. I had an Ibanez SR755 with an Aguilar preamp and Bartolini pickups. The tone was good, but I found myself still searching. I played this bass at a music store in FL and fell in love with it. The Pau Ferro fretboard isn't bad at all. the pictures make it look dry, but put some lemon oil on it and read more it makes it a shade or two darker. Great tone from this bass. Also, no more changing 9V batteries! I pair this bass with an Aguilar TLC Compressor, and a Tonehammer 350 amp going into a MarkBass 2x10 ported cab.

Thank You

The only thing better than the way this looks, sounds and feels is what you all did to make the deal happen. Still shaking my head and thanking my lucky stars. Bless y'all and thank you soooo much.
