First, thanks to Dave for helping to make the purchase and to the support crew who inspected and photographed the bas! That was an awesome experience! The bass is absolutely a TONE MONSTER! It goes from subdued to very bright easily ands quickly. I researched it on YouTube and my interest grew. I am not going to recite the specs. They are in the description. I am going to talk read more about what I love about this bass. First is the pickup blend control. It is so great to have one knob to set your pickup blend. It is faster than having to manage 2 knobs for a blend. There's a detent mid-way to help me fine tune its position quickly. Love it! Next is the EQ knob, another great way to quickly change the tone on the fly. It is the bottom control on the bass but it allows a fast tapering off of the high end and adds another dimension to the tone possibilities. I love the neck. At 38MM (1-1/2") it's like a jazz neck. Fast and comfortable with the Modern C profile. This bass gives my active Fender MIJ Jaguar (also bought from Sweetwater) a run for 1st Bass for gigs.

I was excited to add this bass to my collection. I own 45 bass guitars now including multiple Fender models. It ranks right up there with my Player Jazz basses and Precision basses. It has a great look like my Mustang and Dimension basses but is unique in both design and tone. The 18 volt active tone controls allow you to fine tune without any low end distortion. It has a very read more powerful sound but a very warm and smooth tone. Thanks to Fender for a great looking new bass. This is a must for any and all collectors.

The Meteora in Bass Form Finally

I was always so jealous when fender first announced the meteora guitar. I love odd ball basses and the meteora shape ticked all the boxes for me, but sadly there wasn't a bass version. Not until now. And it is spectacular. I'm super happy that this bass was offered in Silverburst with a maple board. I don't really care for the Pau ferro option. The only "complaint" I have in the read more color department is that the bass version didn't get the cosmic jade. That would have been my first choice. The construction of the bass is excellent. The neck feels amazing and you can play on it for hours. The body shape is also very comfortable and allows incredible access to the upper register. It is for sure my favorite bass to play. The main reason I gave this bass four and a half instead of five stars is because of the electronics. The new pickups are fine. In passive mode they almost have a stingray-ish feel to them. Very clanky but in a pleasant way. In active mode, is where the problem lies for me. It is the same preamp as the other basses and that preamp is fine.. in the other basses. These pickups are pretty trebly for humbuckers and it doesn't mix well with the preamp. The treble is way to overwhelming and I always find myself rolling the treble completely off. I honestly just leave the bass in passive mode. I'll probably get another preamp for the bass eventually but the main thing is is that this bass is one of the best feeling and playing basses I've played in a very long time!
