I'm probably not using it like normal people. I own no cabnet. I'm basically just using it like a tube preamp to my audio interface and JBL monitors. it fits underneath my desktop rack. previously, I've used cheap-mid range standalone amps or direct w/ a plentiful supply of plugins. I've put some work into learning music, but I had no idea how much a premium guitar amp could progress… read more playing. hammers, double hand playing, and the screams. it sounds awesome clean to max crunched, but also good and useable throughout. I'm pretty sure you can run whatever you want through it and it'll be the best tube pre-amp you can buy. If I was a studio, and not just someone that likes making music: I'd buy 2 and make them my mastering tubes. honestly this is like premium channel strip, but it really rocks for the guitar. it's not just for metal, but still really metal; like goes to 13.

First!Made in Germany!Top quality!If you want an excellent quality amp choose ENGL! For high gain is great but with an boss sd1 can go extreme,excellent amp!Sweetwater is the BEST customer service any time,thank you Sweetwater all the best!

If you want fat and crunchy gains and marble smooth cleans, get this amp. I like it loud and fast and this amp delivers the goods. The setup was super easy and I was able to dial in a nice super crunchy tone within minutes. If you want to dial it back, the cleans are silky and full sounding. I love this amp, blows my EVH 5153 lbx and REVV g20 out of the water.. I love both amps, but the engl is a different animal.. cleans, crunch and lead tones are top notch.

Best mid sized metal amp on the market! The full 6l6 tubes give you monster punch and clarity. This thing is a total fire breather! The built in noise gate is fantastic and the attenuator is great too. Very loud amp that can get great bedroom level tones. Clean channel is the best of all my amps by far and the mid boost on the gain channel is killer! Pricey head, but worth every… read more penny. Recently borrowed an mt15 for a demo video on my channel, and there's no comparison. This head smokes it by miles!!! Just buy it!!!
