I replaced a fairly inexpensive pickup with this so the difference was very noticeable. Nice to have a volume control although for my soprano its hard to get to since the instrument is so small...not LR Baggs fault at all. Overall I think the sound is really great not perfect but really pops in the mix for sure. Maybe this is the best a uke can sound which is fine with me. I have several different pickups on my stringed instruments, but this is the best by far. Truly great sound.

I own five ukes & four have this system. I don't fool around with even pre-amped, factory installed systems. This Baggs system offers me the best sound the Uke can produce & I never woory about gain, there's plenty.

After researching various pickups, and comparing 5 for my standard size Koa ukelele, I decided on the LR Baggs Five O. Nate Edwards, has always been very helpful, and sent it out the same day. I had the pick up installed and used it for a gig two days later. It sounds very full and rich, with high output, which is typical for LR Baggs. Couldn't ask for more from this pickup. Incredible detail, lots of warmth and perfect string balance. The installation instructions are great, but don't attempt this install unless you have the proper experience/tools. The flatness of both the saddle slot and underside of the saddle are critical. I have this pickup in my two main tenors for performing and have yet to have a feedback… read more issue. Would highly recommend this to anyone seriously considering going the amplified route!
