Very Nice Guitar
I decided to check out this guitar based on my recollection of a standard J45 that impressed me a few years ago. I'm glad I did! This one shares many of the same characteristics, despite the different saddle, and looks stunning as well (not that the standard J45s are unattractive by any means). All of the hardware and materials on this guitar are very nice. I particularly like… read more that I can see the wood grain through the finish. However, I find the combination of a clean, white pick guard and yellowed binding really odd. Everything done in white would have looked super sharp. I'm not a child of the 60's; I just really like this finish and wish I had a "new" version of it. The build quality is a good step below my Taylor 314, but acceptable - especially if you embrace Gibsons as being more hand-built than the other big makers. Very light guitar - 4lbs. 2oz. Warm and clear sounding with crisp trebles and firm, piano-like basses. Nice balance across the strings and up the neck. The short 24.75" scale makes for easy playing, and the fuller neck profile feels great for my larger hands. Everyone has their own understanding of what a guitar should be, and this one satisfies the rock 'n roller in me. Overall I feel really good about this 2021 Gibson.
One of the best playing guitars I've ever had in my hands!
This guitar is simply beautiful and plays as good as it looks right out of the box. The deep dark red on this guitar mesmerizes everyone that sees it...then they play it and the smiles don't stop. Great sounding professional grade instrument that reminds you how much you love to play every time you touch it. From top to bottom a wonderful playing eye catching guitar throwback… read more from the 60s. The 60s style neck is subtle and easy to wrap your hand around with comfort and style. No need for a pro setup on this Axe...she's ready to hit the stage our the living room right out of the box. Simply perfection in a Gibson J-45. This is an heirloom piece you'll pass down to your grandkids...Gibson is not only a great instrument..it's a great investment and something that you'll only love more with time.
