I've been playing for over 40 years and have spent between $100 to $1600 on guitars over that time. I figured it was time to "reward" myself with an axe to be buried with. Hearing that, unlike their "cheaper" models, the quality of the Gibson Custom Shop was still excellent I decided to buy the CS-356. Sigh..... The build quality was equal to my Gretsch Electromatic. Oh, and the case is a base hardshell one; similar to the one that I had for my Epiphone. Yes, these are not major flaws and can be remedied quite easily. For this price though, I feel as though Gibson has suckered the consumer. Save your money and research other brands!
CS 356
An exquisite instrument, the unique construction allows for great sustain and clarity. Carved top and routed Mahogany body, this is NOT like any ES or similar. I have an ES and Vintage LP Custom , this is very much like their offspring . Highly recommended
Gibson 356 Cherry with Bigsby 2006 model
This guitar plays looks and sounds wonderful. The Bigsby on it adds a little mass and weight and may well contribute to more sustain. The sweet tones emanating from this guitar are historically pleasing. It is a true beauty.
