Gretsch G2622T - my new favorite guitar
I really didn't plan on buying another guitar when I went down to Sweetwater. I decided to try this one as I had never played a hollow body guitar before. Instantly realized it was the best playing guitar I ever picked up, it felt perfect. And the tone just never ends. Now, it is the first guitar I reach for.
Love This Guitar!
Purchased this guitar to get my feet wet with a semi-hollow body. I"ve played other brands but they never sounded right to my ears. Took a shot on this one based on Gretsch"s reputation and the Riviera Blue finish. Now that I"ve had it a couple of months and played a few gigs with it, it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Out of the box, the fit and finish on this guitar was… read more flawless. The finish and binding was even better in person and the large rectangular fret markers look great. The frets are level, no sharp edges, no dead frets. It can handle all the clean and overdriven tones you could want including classic rock. At live venue volumes I was able to drive it pretty hard before starting to get uncontrollable feedback (layering overdrive & fuzz), very versatile if you need to cover a lot of bases. That said, if you"re looking for highly distorted metal tones or looking to dive bomb, this guitar isn"t the one for you (but you probably know that already). Sweetwater provides great customer assistance and at this price, you can"t go wrong.
