Everything I need in one guitar
Hope this helps. Like most reviews, I really like my Broadkaster Jr. It's the most comfortable guitar I've played, the shorter neck makes F and Bb barres super easy, the fret board radius is perfect for me, and somehow despite the single cutaway this guitar is very very easy to play the 22nd fret. The body is LP comfortable and Tstyle light (mine weighs 7 pounds). The tone is really… read more what makes me keep it though, it can hum bucker growl and tele twang but also has an amazing midrange that my other guitars just don't have. Throw in the fun that is a Bigsby and I'm hooked (and yes it stays in tune). Anyways, I really like it, it's pretty, it's very easy to play, and the sounds it makes for me keeps me smiling. I'm not a professional player though so there's that, I'll add a link to a vid of me playing an original I wrote so you can decide if my opinion has merit to you (playing clean into Vox VT40x on the factory Brit 800 setting).
Gretsch the Fantastic!
By far this is my favorite guitar (and I have many). I love the new string-through Bigsby, which makes changing strings very easy. The guitar stays in-tune well, but the tremolo can make the tuning wander a little; however, this can be due to the strings not being mature. Make sure you allow Sweetwater to do a setup on your guitar. It can be very complicated to setup a Gretsch,… read more but once it is set up for the strings you use - it is perfect. Also, only change one string at a time and make sure it is stretched and at pitch before changing the next string. This will help the Bigsby to remain in a stable position during string changes. Use plenty of lube on the nut to help stabilize tuning. I use D'Addario NYXL10/46 strings (really great string), and that is what I had installed during the setup. I'm not big on pedal sounds, but I have used all the pedals and they work extremely well with the Gretsch. My favorite (necessity) pedal is the Polytune3. I love this pedal and I am able to keep my Gretsch in perfect tune all the time. Finally, I believe this guitar can be used in any venue: metal, country, blues, folk, etc. It sounds great using fingerstyle. Buy this and join me in my piece of heaven!
