Gretsch the Fantastic!
By far this is my favorite guitar (and I have many). I love the new string-through Bigsby, which makes changing strings very easy. The guitar stays in-tune well, but the tremolo can make the tuning wander a little; however, this can be due to the strings not being mature. Make sure you allow Sweetwater to do a setup on your guitar. It can be very complicated to setup a Gretsch,… read more but once it is set up for the strings you use - it is perfect. Also, only change one string at a time and make sure it is stretched and at pitch before changing the next string. This will help the Bigsby to remain in a stable position during string changes. Use plenty of lube on the nut to help stabilize tuning. I use D'Addario NYXL10/46 strings (really great string), and that is what I had installed during the setup. I'm not big on pedal sounds, but I have used all the pedals and they work extremely well with the Gretsch. My favorite (necessity) pedal is the Polytune3. I love this pedal and I am able to keep my Gretsch in perfect tune all the time. Finally, I believe this guitar can be used in any venue: metal, country, blues, folk, etc. It sounds great using fingerstyle. Buy this and join me in my piece of heaven!
