ITS GRRREEEAAATTT!
I Just a beginner but, its a great feel and look! Glad i purchased it over a Solid Steel one!
The right tool for the job
I was looking for a slide to use with a new tricone resonator dobro. While I waited for it to arrive, I tried a slide bar (bought at Sweetwater) I had for my Hawaiian lap steel. It was too long (made more for angles across strings). The several glass, brass and steel finger slides (all bought at Sweetwater) I use for my Gretsch resonator (bought at Sweetwater) worked better, but… read more didn't have the control I needed. This little jewel with the curved tip and easy-grip wood handle does the job perfectly. The wood grip is especially comfortable. It's nice to know it won't get too hot or cold as an all metal one can. I am a beginning dobro player, but the balance seems perfect. Since the wood is less dense, the center of gravity is lower. Any race car driver knows that is a good thing! As we all know, many deliveries were delayed due to Covid-19 and my slide was no exception. Sweetwater sent an email describing the situation at their main mail distribution point and asked me to be patient, as they were well aware of the situation. That is a sign of a business that really cares! Sure enough, it came a few days later, in perfect condition, and with a bag of candy. Enough writing... back to learning the dobro with my new Shubb slide!
I love it!
This works so much better than a normal tone bar. And the wood makes it so pretty.
