Warm, Crisp, and Punchy

I got this guitar because I needed a new acoustic. My other was signed and the sharpie was starting to wear with play so it is more or less out of commission. Boy was this an upgrade! I've been wanting a dreadnaught body and this Guild guitar seemed perfect. It sounds amazing with a very full and vibrant sound. It came with probably the best soft case I've seen (it even has a piece read more that cradles and secures the neck. This guitar also has a forward mounted X-bracing pattern which was exactly what I was looking for. I love that warmth with the soundboard the forward mounted x-brace achieves due to it allowing a large area of the soundboard to vibrate. Great midrange guitar for intermediate players.

First things first. Thank you Jim Swain for the best customer support around! You are a man of your word, and when the unexpected happens, you always make things right. Now, for this guitar. Do not fear buying this guitar, it is another fine instrument from Guild. I had the folks at Sweetwater Plek and setup this guitar, and the result is astounding. The action is low and sweet read more with zero fret buzz. You deserve this, and the bonus buck deal means it is a great time to pull the trigger.

I love this Guitar

Great guitar, perfect intonation up and down the neck. Great tone with a punchy midrange. My objective in buying this guitar was to replace a Martin D16h which I'd fallen out of love with with a "good enough" guitar. While the construction is similar to my Martin on paper (solid mahogany back & sides, Sitka top, scalloped x-bracing, dove-tail neck joint), the D140 far exceeded my read more expectations in sound, playability, and build quality. I'd describe the neck as a chunky C shape, which suits me well. I could see the action being too low for some people, but there is no fret buzz and it makes playing it pretty easy compared to many other acoustics I've played.

I bought this as an upgrade from a Yamaha fg800, I was looking for all solid tone woods and this guild fit the bill at what I'd consider a very competitive price. I played similarly priced and more expensive martins and taylors and to my ears this guitar sounded much better than all of the ones I tried. The action from the factory was very high but a quick setup had it playing read more perfectly.
