This is the one - Guild F-55 Maple Antique Burst

Where to begin? Strumming an Em chord on this guitar is orchestral! And strumming one chord is followed by lots more strumming because this guitar sounds wonderful and is very comfortable to play. As a jumbo you might think it does great with force and loudness, and it does, it's fabulous for driving rhythms and all kinds of rhythmic play, but its voice is round and very warm when read more played softly as well. The guitar is well balanced, I can hear all 6 strings clearly when strummed, and its got that very pleasureable sound of notes that pop out when picked. Everything I do sounds better on this guitar, and I've been playing a Martin D-41 for about 15 years. Obviously that's a great guitar too, but stand aside because this Guild is right there with it. This is a beautiful guitar, evenmore stunning than the photos can show, and the flamed maple back gets special oohs and aahs for beauty, and the antique burst finish highlights the maple nicely. I like the Gotoh open-back tuners, they're very smooth and the guitar stays in tune. What else to say? Personally the guitar is a perfect fit for me and vibrates reassuringly against the body when I play. I wasn't sure I could afford this guitar, but now I know I cannot afford not to have it!

A fantastic guitar!! I got this to replace in 1967 Gibson Dove that finally bit the dust (raised bridge). I wanted a different sound this time—and I got it! Guilds have a very sweet, very balanced sound. Less dry and shiny than a Gibson, but more smooth and bright. The woods are spectacular, very beautiful. The hardware is top-notch. (I’ve always liked Grovers, but these read more Guild golden spindles are very strong and precise.) The neck is wonderfully playable, and the sound is gorgeous: the bass has that deep jumbo sound, the middles are strong, the highs are cutting but still sweet. Forget the J200—this Guild, as of days of old—is the best jumbo again.

Superb in all ways

Everything about this instrument is top notch. The attention to detail is awesome. The looks and sound are unbelievable. Plays great. Sounds like a jumbo should sound. What else need I say?

This is an awesome sounding Jumbo! Very sweet tone and playability is excellent! I have owned a Gibson J200 and it is very dead sounding compared to the Guild. The F50 is not loud in a way that offends but it projects the warm, clear sound of the guitar whereas the Gibson Jumbo does not. The Gibson has more bling, but less WOW! Made in the USA,, the quality of the guitar woods read more and the fit and finish was noticeably better than the Gibson as well. I own a Martin D18 as I think it is the best dreadnaught made and I believe there is no better jumbo you can buy than the Guild F50.
