Ibanez Adam Nitti Signature Premium ANB205 Review

Absolutely AWESOME bass!!

Ok - So we all know that the instruments we play are intensely personal. Obviously, a high quality guitar (components, materials, construction, craftsmanship, etc.), is a high quality guitar - that's objective. However, the 2nd piece of the puzzle is how the guitar FEELS to us personally. Does it feel great when we are playing sitting down?, standing up?, is it incredibly balanced… read more (no neck-dive)?, does the neck feel amazing in our hand?, is the string spacing just right? I've been on a bit of a journey trying to find the 'magic' formula of specs that would come together to create the perfect bass for me. I believe I have finally found it. The Adam Nitti (ANB-205) is simply brilliant. Everything thing about it fits me like a glove. From the shape and contours of the body, to the width, thickness and shape of the neck, to where my right hand falls when plucking the strings, to the overall balance of the guitar, to the beautiful finish (transparent gloss wine color over the beautiful ash wood grain), to the high quality electronics and components, to the tone... this thing is just INCREDIBLE. If you've ever watched the promo video of this bass (hosted by Adam Nitti himself), I think I'm just as excited about this bass as he is! :) I did have Sweetwater do 3 things to the bass before they shipped it to me... 1) I had it PLEKED. It's hard to describe the amazing playability of a bass after it has been PLEKED. It's like butter! Wow!! 2) I had them make a new nut with custom spacing for the string grooves. The stock string spacing at the nut was not optimal for me. The Sweetwater 'Workshop team' did an utterly fantastic job. Spot in. 3) I had them install shielding in the control cavity. I can't recommend this bass highly enough. It is truly incredible. Like I said at the beginning, how a bass feels to play is subjective and personal. I'm not saying that this is the right bass for everyone - (that would be absurd). What I am saying is that if the specs of this bass are close to what you know you like, then I would definitely give it a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed in the least!

Wow

This bass is amazing! From the KTS bars in the neck, to the hardware choice, to the electronics choice, you can tell that no detail was left out. I'm used to seeing manufacturers compromise on hardware or electronics here and there but not on this bass, no expense was spared. This bass is a custom designed instrument, by an extremely experienced player, but built by CNC machines… read more instead of by hand. It has definitely set a benchmark for any future instrument purchase.

Adam Nitti signature 5 String

Great Bass. Was looking at getting a Five String and the Adam Nitti 5 string was available for Pre-order. Have had the bass for about a month. Plays great. Excellent string spacing. Strings closer to neck. Makes you play lighter like "Adam Nitti" Electronics also you to get key board sounds out of "B" string. Learning more and more about instrument everytime I play. I have a 1974… read more Fender P Bass and and 1992 Alembec both four strings. This Adam Nitti Signature 5 String is a great addition to my collection. It will be my main go to bass now!!
