This is a nice looking bass with the classic fast action neck that ibanez is known for. Also has a real punchy low end sound with that that extra string. Overall very happy with the instrument and for the price it can't be beat. The only drawback on this bass is that it doesn't hold the tuning down as much as i'd like but again, well worth the money. I am very happy with this bass since it arrived. I have played and recorded with it heavily for 6 weeks and I am very happy with it overall. The setup was spot on perfect when I received it and was much more than I expected for the price that I paid. It's an absolutely beautiful finish and I get compliments on it all the time. Really punchy and sounds good for pretty much anything… read more from funk, jazz, or metal.

I just got this bass this morning, but didn't have time to take it out of the box until late afternoon; it was exquisite torture, waiting...anyway, it's much lighter than I expected. Having had 4 (count'em) back surgeries, weight was a real concern. But it's fairly light, and put together really well, and looks great with the book-matched top wood. As always, the packing was… read more more than adequate. The Ibanez case for this bass was out of stock, so I got a Gator GL Bass semi-rigid gig bag, & the GSR205 fits well, although the A-string tuner barely touches the padding; but I always tune up every time I pick up any guitar, so that's not a problem; it was about the cost of a set of strings less than the Ibanez case... After a few very minor adjustments, it plays & sounds nice. The neck is really fast; thin, but substantial enough to get a good grip on it. It has a good balance & contour; I've acquired a bit of a gut, so the belly scarf is in just the right place for me. I know there are better instruments available, but anyone would be hard-pressed to find a bass that plays & looks as nice as this one does for anywhere near the price. It's just what I was looking for. Once again, Sweetwater came through with a great deal. Jimmy Hart has always gone above & beyond, and the guys in Shipping sweetened the deal with some extra of my favorites (Atomic Fireballs). Thanks, guys; after these sweets, I gotta have some water...heheheh
