Great little bass

Kevin Scullin

I purchased this bass, and the first one I got seemed to be mis-wired with a master volume control for the P-pickups and a slave volume control for the J-pickup instead of independent volume controls. I got ahold of Ryan Sloan, who put me in touch with Guitar Tech Michael Barden. Michael got back to me within two days, confirmed that mine was wired incorrectly, and sent me a replacement read more that same day via next-day air, as well as e-mailing me a return label. The replacement worked perfectly, although the volume control nuts did need a little tightening. I attribute that primarily to shipping vibration - I've seen the same issue in some guitar review videos. Below is a video of the unboxing, as well as commentary about the excellent customer service and sound samples of the replacement.

Small but Mighty

I ordered this Bass Guitar cause of my current living space. I wasn't sure what to expect but it sounds awesome. I never played a micro bass before but it's not a bad guitar. I would definitely recommend it to ppl starting out or for kid's.

Hell of a deal for the money

I first bought an Ibanez SR300e from Sweetwater, which I like very much, but while I've got a 74" wingspan and medium-large hands, it sometimes proves hard to play below the 4th fret or so due to arthritis in my left hand. The Mikro has proved to be just the answer for those uncomfortable days, as the more tightly spaced frets make a huge difference. The fit is less exact than read more the SR300e, but it's solid and the finish is excellent. The neck, fretboard, and frets seem to be excellent given my brief experience. The B10 bridge is of course less substantial than the Accucast, but has been no problem at all. The tuning machines don't hold tune as well as the SR300e, and are probable candidates for an upgrade, but are not really an issue for my purposes. Someone who plays a several hour gig may find them a bother. Stock pickups and strings are fine to my ear, but will probably be upgraded just because the very reasonable price makes this an instrument that can be customized just for fun. Bottom line: Excellent for the money, great for a beginner on a serious budget or an old guy with gimpy wrists, I think 5 stars for those reasons.

Who Knew??

I picked up this bass after being tired of the heavy weight and size of a full scale size. This thing is SO FUN to play and sounds great. I changed out the strings to flatwounds (nothing wrong with the roundwounds-just personal preference) and I truly can't believe the sound and punch it has. If you're on the fence about getting this model, don't be. Sweetwater sent it quickly, read more and packed securely. It's a "win" all the way around.

Better Than Expected

I had not owned or played a bass in decades (being mainly a guitar player), so I did not want to spend a lot of money just to see if there was still any interest in playing bass. At this price point, my expectations were not high. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both the good quality and playability of this Ibanez bass. Being short in stature, the short scale is perfect read more for me. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Thanks to A.J. Becerra of Sweetwater for his advice and assistance.
