Very high quality instrument

I appreciate the 27" scale length on this guitar for better intonation and feel, that's probably this model's most killer feature. The pickups are also very nice for having versatility across the pickup positions than I would have expected, giving me options for a bit of quack or a smoothed out neck sound for leads. Dark Tide blue is an incredible looking finish in person.. with read more the other high end touches on this like the inlay on the headstock, the binding, the fretwork, all are high end. The neck feels nicer to me than the last wizard 7-string neck I owned. Easier to reach the higher frets and feels more natural across the neck. I am very impressed overall. I would very much like someday to have a matching Prestige 6-string but for now I am fine with my Premium 6-string AZ model Ibanez.

If you're looking for a 7 string, I highly recommend this one. This guitar not only looks awesome, but it sounds even better. The neck fits comfortably in my hand and to be quite honest , it doesn't even feel like I'm playing a 7 string. The action and space between the strings make playing this beauty effortless. The 27" scale makes it so easy and gives you plenty of room to hit read more any chord or just breeze through scales. Just to be clear, I don't have ginormous hands so don't let the scale of the neck worry you. I actually think it's perfect for this type of guitar. The DiMarzio pick ups sound absolutely amazing! Weather you're playing heavy low B chugging or those clean pretty chords that just chime. Ibanez and DiMarzo hit the nail on the head. The 5 way switch allows you to shift through a pretty wide range of killer tones. So between the neck and pickup combo, your solos will sound awesome! And be a joy to play. Now, the finish on this gem is incredible. It has smooth sleek lines that make it conservative enough to play a wedding. But, still rock a packed house and deliver a monstrous raw! The color is a must see. At first glance it appears black but, when the light hits this baby is a beautiful sparkling blue. This is the 4th guitar I purchased from Sweetwater and I couldn't be happier. I won't even waist my time going somewhere else. I know what I want in a guitar and Sweetwater gets it right every time. I know some folks might hesitant to buy a guitar on line but, rest assure that Sweetwater's quality control is second to none! I always deal with Drew Owens and it's always a pleasurable experience. I've been working them for a few years now and I'm completely satisfied. One other thing I recommend, I always have the Sweetwater techs set my guitars the way I like. You'll pay a little extra for the set up but, it's worth every penny. Every guitar they've worked on for me has played flawlessly right out of the box. So, if you're looking for a 7 string, here it is!

Flawless Monster

Best guitar I've ever owned. Screams quality. I haven't always loved the cheaper Ibanez guitars, but the Prestige ones tend to be absolutely top-notch. The guitar plays so effortlessly, it's easier and smoother than just about anything I've tried. The stock pickups are actually pretty solid, but I did wind up swapping them for a little personal touch (went with Seymour Duncan Nazgul read more & Duncan Distortion, sounds like a Lovecraftian horror). I was down-tuning a ton previously, and while I've had 6 string Ibanez guitars handle that like a champ, it's just nice to not have to worry about that since you've got the extended range here. It does have a longer scale length than you might be used to, but between the Basswood body and the rest of the design it's honestly not insanely heavy as far as 7+ string guitars go. I really can't say enough good things about this guitar, it's an incredible metal machine. Plays some sweet cleans for sure, but my main concern was can I lay down lead and rhythm parts for black/power/folk/melodic death metal, and this guitar gets the job done 1000%. Sweetwater customer service was amazing as always!

This is the best guitar that I've owned so far. It's also the first guitar that I've owned with DiMarzio pickups. They sound great! The tremolo is easy to palm mute on and it's been all around easy to work with. You get a nice hard case with the order and then send you tools to work with it as well. I can't see much more that you could possibly upgrade with this guitar, it read more plays nice and sounds mean. I hear that the entire Prestige line is top notch. I believe the Prestige line is all Japanese made. In any case this is a quality guitar if that is what you're looking for.
