The Ibanez SR405EQM is an absolutely stunning bass, especially for the price. I have had mine for close to 8 months now, and it is my favorite of all of my instruments to play. I am mainly a bassist, but this guitar can give some very gritty, dark tones or a very pretty clean tone. The pickups are great, adjusting the action is extremely simple, and it is overall a great guitar.

Was hoping to find an easy to hold and easy to play 5 string bass. It is easy to hold and play. Good tone. That was my next concern. For a bolt on neck, this bass is well made. I prefer neck thru, but not at this price point. The acive electronics really enhance and make this bass capable of several different sound types. I hae since purchased a nice hard case for this awesome looking bass to safely rest in when I am busy at other things. Tuning and intonation seem very good on all parts of the neck. No bad frets or buzz tones. Low B string has deep rich tone, or can be also a very gritty treble attack tone. Overall, nice bass for a nice price.

Have had my SR405 for a week now. Put flatwounds on it and tweaked the setup to adjust for the stings and get the action I like. I am in love with this guitar. It's gorgeous, sounds great and is so much lighter than my other 5 string. Have to say, I am shocked at the quality of the finish details on this bass, especially for one in this price range.

Quality; beauty; performance. All great attributes that describe this bass. Huge range of tonal combinations from the humbucker pickups and three-band equalizer. I purchased this as a 'starter' in the 5-string category; to go along with the other 4-strings I have. Great investment!
