THE BEST SIGNATURE WAH?
I love wahs in solos, well maybe not like Kirk Hammett... I had a Dunlop wah in the 80s. The switch broke often. Then a Vox wah in the 90s, no broken switch but it had trouble cutting through distortion.. Then I got the Morley Bad Horsie 2. 20 years later still working however I wanted an alternative after seeing so many signature wahs. It seems rediculous how there are so many… read more variations. I tried the 535Q yet the range and Q adjustments weren't satisfactory. Its better played with all the controls fully open, yet was still not as good as the Morley. I then got the second Slash version with the built in distortion which would tear your head off. Its best set almost off. The Slash wah itself was good though but something attracted me to the Jerry Cantrell, his wah on the Dirt album from 1993 had that evil throaty yet vocal growl to it...I think it is the first signature wah from Dunlop that came out in the late 90s with Zakk, Buddy Guy and Hendrix showing up not long after. It will not be a replacement for Bad Horsie. The switch takes some getting used to as the Morley is switchless but with the Q control on the Jerry set to 9 or so when turned clockwise that distinctive tone is amazing.
Great service and product
This is my first experience with ordering from Sweetwater. I received stellar personal assistance by Teryn, who helped me order the Crybaby jc95b, solid product, sounds killer. What impressed me the most was the care and packaging of my product. Teryn followed up with me on my product. Top notch professional, I look forward to future business with Teryn and Sweetwater for all my… read more music needs. Thank You Sweetwater team.
Amazing Pedal
Love this pedal! From the minute I plugged it in it gives that raw Alice In Chains sound that I love so much. Highly recommend for all AIC fans.
Man in a box tone
This thing rips. By far one of the best sounding and eq friendly wahs out there and for a banging price to boot. I'm obsessed with the Dirt album and how Jerry was able to get those seriously tasty overtones along with that singing wah tone! I absolutely love the yoke on it as I can make it dark or super in your face style of aggression on it. I think the only thing that comes… read more close to this is the dimebag wah. However, I like things that are simple and easy to get right the first time. Not the 33rd time. If you're in the market for a killllllller sounding wah, look no further. This is it.
One of the best wahs on the market today
I'm a H U G E fan of Alice In Chains and everything that Jerry Cantrell touches. I was in the market for a wah that has a nice throaty mid range while still being usable and easy to dial in. My other choice was the John petrucci wah but didn't want to mess with it too much to get what I wanted. Straight out of the box and into my engl invader 150w and it straight up kills man! Glad… read more I can use this now to accurately play Jerry's solos now :).
