The most dynamic , touch sensitive "modded" amp I've ever played. It just sounds MUSICAL and ALIVE. It retains great tone at every volume. I simply love it. The JBE mode alone is worth the price of admission. Even the cat approves… Many thanks to Chris Leonard!

Had my JJ Jr for a few weeks now. One of the best sounding amplifiers I've had since getting rid of my Mesa Dual Rec. It's nice and light. Easy to pack in and out. Great FX loop. Can do anything from classic rock to metal. Pairs nice with a Tumnes in the front end.

Best sounding 20 watt head I've ever owned. It's BE channel alone is worth the price of admission. Add to that a JBE switch and BAM! High gain heaven! Even with the gain knob cranked to 11 (Yes it goes to 11!) the amp still retains it's clarity and definition. The amp is super tight and doesn't flub out even if you crank up the bass to 11. The clean channel can go from a Vox style… read more clean to a bluesy growl when you turn the volume up. I also own a Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini and a Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 and those amps have their own great sounds, but the JJ Jr is in a class all it's own. Combine all the features that this incredible amp has with the absolute best customer service in the industry and you've got yourself a winner! So if your looking to get a low wattage (but LOUD) amp, give the Friedman line a try, you won't regret it

If you love hot rod Marshall tones, then just buy this thing. There is a ton of gain. 20 watts is plenty loud for live gigs. Dave built this amp in a way to not only utilize the built in xlr speaker out, but you can also use the secondary speaker out to run a Cab M or whatever IR loading box and still play silently without a cab. As long as nothing is plugged into the "use first"… read more speaker then the amp has a load on it. How cool is that! The 2 channels are great. Dave voiced them to sound great together when switching back and forth.
