Okay, maybe you'll be less thrilled that I am, but WOW, do these sound AND feel good. Early on, I had a lot of finger pain on my fretting hand, and thought perhaps bass wasn't for me. Luckily, a teacher said to try light-gauge strings, so I got some extra light gauge round-wound strings. About a year later, I wanted to switch to flat-wounds because I'd discovered I liked the sound… read more better. I got some regular gauge flats by another company (because my fingers must be a lot stronger), and... meh? The sound just wasn't there... it was different from the rounds, but not what I wanted. And, my finger pain came back, because wow, they were stiffer (I think!) than the original rounds. Digging around a bit turned these strings up, and really, they sounded so much better, AND my fingers are happy. Win-win!
The Best Forget the Rest!
Once you go flat you never go back :) and this offering from La Bella is da bomb! Especially for the "B" string I didn't believe the .118 would be a good choice for B but I decided to try and I am glad I did. The B string is tight and clear exactly what I want. I use these on my 4-string P and Jazz as well, my 5'er is a USA Hartley Peavey Signature Cirrus 2007, couldn't be happier… read more and a great price thanks La Bella!
Nice and smooth
I use these for BEAD tuning on my precision bass. I play pretty fast and these are smooth and have a deep tone.
Best sounding string I ever heard!
I bought a new Sterling StingRay5 bass that came with round wound strings a couple weeks ago. I thought I had gotten a defective one as it sounded terrible! I set it up again which included re-doing the intonation. This helped a little but I still was not happy with it. I was deciding weather to send it back when I decided to replace the string. Since I have LaBella flat wounds… read more on my other bass, I thought I'd try the Labella Low Tension Flats on the StingRay5. WOW!! I was blown away! Now this guitar sounds awesome! The LaBellas are perfect for this bass. After tuning I checked the intonation and it was nearly perfect. Only one string needed to be tweaked. I will be buying Labella from now on. Thanks!
La Bella Low Tension Flats
I put these on my inexpensive 5 string bass. Man did it come alive! I love these strings! I normally use Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats but the tactile feel on these feel better to me. Will be my go to set from now on.
