Even I could hear the difference.
I bought these as a birthday present for my Martin 00-21 that just turned 50. It already sounded great to me, though I can't hear much above 6 KHz. I'm not good at describing sounds accurately, but I did hear my guitar sound brighter and maybe a little fuller, possibly due to some increased sustain. My wife, who's ears I trust, could definitely hear an improvement. I'm not that… read more thrilled with the colors of the pegs, but I play guitar for the sound and not the looks, so that didn't lower my review score. I'm very satisfied with my investment and my little Martin sings like never before.
Gamble...Pleasantly Surprised
I have a D18 that I really like, but wanted to squeeze a tiny bit of extra volume out of. That was my only goal and I expected to be disappointed by these. I got exactly what I wanted. The tiniest bump of volume but still noticeable to me and my wife.
Surprising impact
I have a Martin OMEX Black that I play a lot. It is basically indestructible so I keep it close at hand so that I can just pick it up and pluck when inspiration strikes. I was curious about the liquid metal pins and whether they would make much of a difference so rolled the dice and got a set. Wow, big difference! The koa top on this guitar has a nice dark feel to in, and I thought these finished it off nicely, and the… read more red dots look very classy with the red wood. So I use a soundhole cover, play through a small mixer for mics through a Bose line array system. This my friends is where the real hit happened. Finally, some mid range to work with. Gave this lil' Taylor a huge bark and bite. I work in a metal shop. It's supremely interesting to me how a musician ear can hear the tiniest nodes of difference between different alloys. Well Martin, thanks for making my Taylor even better. And always, a special shout out to Cristian Good, I hope everyone has a rep like him. Prompt, precise, courteous and caring. Much love Sweetwater.
Better everywhere!
I don't have any idea who thought of this concept. All I know is that these do, indeed, make a noticeable difference. Further, the difference is an improvement (to my ears at least). I liked them so much, I bought a second set. That has to be my endorsement! If you think they are expensive, just remember, you've probably spent this much on popcorn over the years! :)
